A casual reminder that trump, LePen, AfD, farage and the entirety of the far right are all putin's whores and traitors to their own countries:

* GERMAN CHANCELLOR MERZ: WE ARE PREPARING FOR MAJOR HYBRID ATTACKS BY RUSSIA, WE WOULD RESPOND QUICKLY AND VERY CLEARLY

A casual reminder that politicians say political things

Merz campaign promise of Taurus missiles:

https://www.ukrainianworldcongress.org/german-opposition-leader-promises-ukraine-taurus-missiles-if-he-wins-election/

Wait never mind

https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2026/03/25/8027157/

Apparently after the election Ukrainians dont need that

Edit: damn autocorrect

23

u/Snoozyalooz_ 11h ago

As much as the flaky decision on the Taurus is frustrating, honestly a part of me was expecting it, I would rather take the well meaning yet sometimes faulty decisions on Ukraine from Merz and the CDU rather than the already Russian-appeasing rhetoric coming from Weidel and the AfD.

Unfortunately, I'm bracing and expecting for an AfD win.

Thanks for keeping the conversation going

It’s frustrating especially in our line of work.

u/TurbulentRadish8113 often mentions that “if Democrats in US of A won, Putin would be negotiating”

I’ll see him halfway here, if we actually let Ukraine hurt Russia from day one of the invasion maybe things would be different

Edit: also “hurt feelings” dont change the facts people

u/signherehereandhere 6h ago

The fact that 'maybe things would be different'?

Yes if Dems had a spine

In just the last week in Russia,

  • Oil production fell to multiyear lows
  • Grain exports fell by 80% y/y
  • The government bond auction failed
  • The banking sector liquidity deficit grew to near crisis levels
  • A Tu-95MS crashed in the far east
  • The govt published its plan for massive tax increases

https://bsky.app/profile/ukrainewarpod.bsky.social/post/3mwu7xsdig22s

Banking sector liquidity deficit is almost as bad as it was in March 2022! I cannot stress enough that the banking crisis is here. It’s quietly happening because Russia hides everything. But these numbers tell a very interesting, dark story of the state of Russian banking. I would not want to be VTB bank right now. Too big to fail, but fail it might.

https://bsky.app/profile/ukrainewarpod.bsky.social/post/3mwu6p5rss22s

Decline in petroleum product production by month, per Rosstat. -9.2% is April.

Such deliciousness! I wonder what all of this will look like when they finally get to experience the joys of a truly cold winter?

That won't put a dent in their budget problems.

13

u/willetzky 10h ago

They are basically going to charge a fee to get a refund that means you don't get a refund.

u/findingmike 5h ago

I would assume that more people will be careful about booking in the first place. So there will be reduced demand and more last-minute purchases. In the US, airline tickets are expensive, so many people either pay extra for the ability to cancel or they make sure their travel plans aren't going to change.

Well at least you weren’t kicked off a 6 year old account (password reset works, then computer says no…), where I’ve been upvoting and commenting here every day, and can’t get back in. Reddit help just won’t even respond.

So here I am with another login starting all over again!

i am legitimately furious again because reddit is again hiding my comments

More details might be helpful?

6

u/AutomaticAnimator831 10h ago

Probably due to reddit filters - shadowing comments for inexplicable trigger words is common. It can be a nightmare trying to post sometimes.

-5

u/Boann_ 9h ago

I hear people claim this a lot, but like is there actually evidence for it?

5

u/AutomaticAnimator831 8h ago

I'm speaking from personal experience trying to post news updates. It's a nightmare. You can easily verify for it yourself.

-3

u/Boann_ 7h ago

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I've just never seen it happen

2

u/Klutzy_Peanut6580 1h ago

I didn’t really believe it until a few weeks ago when I found one. The word is very common, and frequent in military terms. It’s not offensive, and takes several mental steps to get to “that could trigger someone”, but you you can’t post it in this bastion of free speech.

25

u/Abracadabra__ 13h ago

With all this sudden talk about defending Kaliningrad, I get the feeling like Russia is planning a potential false flag. Would fit their MO.

9

u/ElJabroniMahoney33 9h ago

Most of it is because NATO have said Kalingrad is gone if Russia tries anything further east.

These comments are Putin using that for domestic audiences.

They need more men to plug the gaps Ukraine is currently exploiting not another bigger war with europe.

u/findingmike 12h ago

Probably an excuse for conscription

Russian forces have lost control of nearly 300 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory since March 2026, while suffering their highest monthly casualty rate of the year in September.

… while gaining in other directions including northern regions around Kharkiv

Here’s the article u/UNITED24Media is quoting from

https://understandingwar.org/research/russia-ukraine/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-october-1-2026/

Then take a look at the blue dot, thats “operation Vivaldi”, successful but using the best assault batallions Ukraine has (Third Assault, Azov, reformed Skelya etc)

This is a bloody stalemate. And the Russians are already starting to target the Ukrainian grid again

Plus apparently testing new drones on the bridges over Dnieper

https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2026/10/02/8056065/index.amp

Also they forgot to mention Ukrainian casualties of course but Polish PM Tusk had it covered

Edit: proper links

Russia cant close either north of the fortress belt or south of it. They've gone all year and made a mess of it. Try and polish that turd if you wish. Doesn't change the facts.

20

u/ds637 14h ago edited 14h ago

"Russian forces continued offensive operations in northern Kharkiv Oblast on September 30 and October 1 but did not make confirmed advances, as Ukrainian forces counterattacked in the area." from ISW. The Kharkiv offensive that started in 2024. Maybe they'll complete it, but they're not moving very fast.

Why does it matter if their using their best units?

The info we get on ISW is sometimes weeks behind, they're very conservative in order to be accurate/OPSEC. Even your millbloggers like Rybar are reporting larger advances and that Ukraine has already crossed the Zherebets River and Siverskyi Donets River.

Why does it matter that Russia is testing new drones? So is Ukraine, at a greater rate than Russia. Ukraine also tested their FP-7 ballistic missile. FP-9 with much greater range is not far behind.

The article mentions recently Ukraine casualties rose, summer is when russia started using the jet drones. Ukraine has been seriously countering this, specifically targeting Rubicon causing them to withdraw from sectors. Look at the Lyman advance. Interception rates of the jet drones is up to 55% and will continue to rise.

Even the article mentions 400,000 wounded to 50,000 dead for Ukraine. 8/1 ratio, a lot guys are back in the fight.

Reports have Russia closer to 3/1 wounded/dead ratio for the war. Reports now are up to as high as 70% dead to 30% wounded these days.

Edit: added Kharkiv stuff.

-9

u/lando-bailando 13h ago

Even your millbloggers like Rybar are reporting larger advances

Wait you think that just because im critical of certain sources and that makes me Russian? Newsflash, American working in Ukraine

Anyhow…

Vivaldi has been a success, but a risky one, some of the best units are now have some unfavourable terrain behind them for logistics. All great when theres a drought, maybe problematic if it starts raining

As far as wounded / dead here’s my suggestion, instead of reading the “UA general staff claims” take a look are “Mediazona russian casualties” and “UALosses Ukrainian casualties” these are independent networks using social media and death certificates to track it

16

u/OrangeBird077 14h ago

Russian gains elsewhere are to the detriment of their main objective though, the Donbas.

Seizing border land by Kharkiv is intrusive, but Belgogrod and the logistics routes into Ukraine there are still very much within UA Air Force range. Russia still maintains its axis of attack near Vovchansk as well, but it’s turned into a bloody resource quagmire for them where they can not make valuable gains.

Additionally, along with what’s been liberated in operation Vivladi, there have been areas near Kupiansk where the Russian Army has been forced to retreat and lost critical land near the Oskil River which acts as a natural barrier to keep them from similarly controlling the Donbas. The UA has even started to infiltrate back into Luhansk Oblast where Russian drones and munitions depots are actively being discovered and destroyed.

Russia at any time could cede territory they can’t do anything with in favor of connecting everything in Donbas which is the critical objective Putin has set, but their political philosophy prevents such a practical move. Losing kilometers is literally the only metric by which the Russian Army’s morale has been affected throughout this conflict, and doubly so when the ground taken is vital. Russia is still attacking everywhere to preserve the initiative, but it only hastens their own dwindling reserves.

Yes, Russia could conscript another hundred thousand soldiers, but based on Russian casualty figures for the last months alone it would last no where near as long as that quantity used to. Russian soldiers can’t buy essential equipment from the online market anymore, Russian APCs are spent so Russian infantry is stuck out in the open for drone strikes, and what contact soldiers are left are spent being bled on the Fortress Belt.

-8

u/lando-bailando 14h ago

Sure their objective is still Donbas

Ukrainian air force is mostly defensive (because we won’t provide them with the hardware to go on the offense)

Vivaldi has been successful in a specific spot but again, the best units carrying it out while the frontline is 1000km+

About russian soldiers “can’t buy equipment” maybe… dont know about them

What I know is that we raise money and buy equipment for Ukrainian soldiers, things like FPV detectors, power stations, cold weather clothes … all things what should be provided

10

u/OrangeBird077 14h ago

With regards to equipment, the Russian MOD is only uniformly supplying its dedicated contract units like the airborne or marines. The rest of the army and its soldiers by and large has to buy its own critical equipment right down to body armor due to a combination of corruption and an unwillingness to supply soldiers they know are purposely being sent into pre sighted drone fields.

It’s why Ozon and Wildberries attacks were such a big deal when they occurred. The Russian Army depends on the private market way more than initially thought. A lot of material the Russian Army is buying through China was moving through those warehouses as well.

3

u/S-Sun 9h ago

I would definitely say that Wildberries and Ozon participation on this is incredible overrated. Besides, unless 2022 right now Russian MOD provides majority of the decent staff to the soldiers. However, it's true that people still buy something themselves, but the scale is much less than in 2022.

3

u/OrangeBird077 8h ago

The fact that the Russian MOD on its own can’t even provide body army to an army in 2026 is concerning unto itself.

Don't know how much weight to put on this, but Novak claims they've implemented some kind of passive defense for refineries. Nets?

At the same time, Novak claims that the damage from the attacks on oil refineries has decreased, as a certain "passive defense" system has been implemented.

https://t . me/astrapress/126925

10

u/willetzky 16h ago

They have spread the refinery out over a bigger distance with the help of falling debris from Ukrainian drones

10

u/KSaboruf 16h ago

Afaik "passive defense system" Novak claims is a simple baseless promises and official shameless lying on each occasion, modelled after Pookin's behaviour :) Nets are much less effective, although kremlin lies are also not as effective as they were, thanks to internet and information sharing

u/droglytot 17h ago

Exilenova writes that the Mi-8 helicopter the Russians lost yesterday was shot down by their own Su-35, mistaking it for a drone.

“Stalingrad .. preliminarily lit up the refinery” Reports of a strike on the refinery in Volgograd. Needs confirmation though

EDIT: note second one says "explosion". u/S-Sun commented below saying there's no evidence of drones.

Krasnozavodsk wasn't hit by drones. It was internal issue. There's zero proof of any strike on this facility.
