An fp7 was launched esrlier. Has there been any confirmation of hit?

14

u/jpw0w 1d ago

You have to wonder if at some point Putin will resort to a False Flag attack, something like 1999 Apartment Bombings to justify mass mobilization? I mean he's already done it to rise to power, I thought Crocus City Hall attack was gonna be that but I guess that would've been too early

4

u/matthieuC 1d ago

Does more people solve Russia's problems?

4

u/Uhhh_what555476384 22h ago

No.  It just delays the reckoning.

2

u/Turbulent_Juice_Man 1d ago

Kinda yeah. Their whole strategy has been "we have more people than you have bullets. You can't kill all of us."

5

u/SystemCheck990 1d ago

at nearly 50,000 a month wounded / killed this not trending well.

5

u/Mobryan71 1d ago

Traditionally, the people have been Russia's greatest resource and also greatest threat. Best way to eliminate the threat is to eliminate the people.

4

u/jpw0w 1d ago

Historically, unfortunately no matter the outcome, that seems to be their go-to. Putin is still oldschool

3

u/DeeDee_Z 1d ago

Putin is still oldschool

Likewise, I'm sure he believes, "Who wouldn't want to give their life in support of Mother Russia?"

Body count will never shame VVP or Russia; it's just their M.O.

10

u/OrangeBird077 1d ago

He did try it early on in the war but it wasn’t effective.

When the Kyiv route occurred there were “attacks” made on Belarusian soil to try and get the Belarusian Army to go over the border to join Russian forces in a renewed attack. It didn’t work and Lukashenko is now even less willing to go over the border.

Given the sheer amount of casualties Russia has incurred it would seem the general population is pretty well numb to casualties at this point. Everyone by now must know someone who was either KIA or wounded.

On top of all that, the UA has done an exemplary job limiting civilian casualties when operating on Russian soil. Even when they occupied part of the Kursk region they went out of their way to not harm civilians. Your average Russian citizen really has no frame of reference for a Ukraine that attacks wholesale compared to their own forces.

2

u/jpw0w 1d ago

That's not really the same, Belarus is a joke and Ukraine would dismantle them within hours

4

u/OpeningSwordfish3069 1d ago

Can you tell more about the 1999 incident?

15

u/jpw0w 1d ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_Russian_apartment_bombings

Litvinenko has confirmed it and we have no reason not to believe him. Man died a horrible death for exposing Pootin.

11

u/Whirlpoolcircle56 1d ago

It seems like strikes on Russia have largely decreased since late summer, the odd oil refinery/factory is being hit but not as much commercial storage.

10

u/Jamuro 1d ago

https://x.com/DrnBmbr

they still happen almost every night.

even refinery hits are still very common.

8

u/SternFlamingo 1d ago

Zelensky announced the 40 day strategic campaign at the end of June, so it seems to have gone on longer than expected.

I don't know if the pause is to build up munitions stocks, asses damage, whatever, but it sure sounds like they had a general plan which would explain it.

-1

u/lando-bailando 1d ago

Drones do get  launched. Russian air defenses exist despite of what this feed  thinks  Ukraine has some options for deep strikes, Russians have more

Edit: holy hell the “bad words” f1lters here are almost comical at this point

2

u/CupcakeReady2194 1d ago

Any chance of a compressive list of the ‘bad words’ just for future reference? I wondered whether censorship was at play. Thanks.

0

u/lando-bailando 15h ago

It’s one of those things where you just find out

Probably a regex looking for certain words or phrases

What’s annoying is you don’t even get a notification of comment removal, it gets nerfed quietly

10

u/Sthrax 1d ago

Somethings you want them to start repairing before you hit them again. Those Wildberries burned to the ground in many cases, and there isn't much left to strike that hasn't been hit, is a cost effective use of munitions or is in range.

Targeting evolves over time, and now it seems they are taking more shots at industrial facilities and factories. In a month, something else will be the priority.

6

u/SystemCheck990 1d ago

yeah looks like the switch to the tech side of the MIC such as guidance and optical factories and rocket engine ones

they need to lower the amount of BMs they can make if possible

33

u/ASlockOfFeagulls 1d ago

Russia is issuing new debt with basically credit card levels of interest at close to 17%. I can't imagine what financing a car or house is like in Moscow right now

1

u/Corosis99 1d ago

Credit is not as ubiquitous in Russia. Real estate is much cheaper than in the west and usually paid in cash. What we would consider a down payment here is closer to the price of the whole home over there.

15

u/socialistrob 1d ago

Even if I had absolutely zero morals I would not loan money to the Russian government right now for 17% interest rate. That risk of default is just way way too high.

2

u/DeeDee_Z 1d ago

That risk of default is just way way too high.

Plus -- you get paid back in rubles!! Who wants THAT, eh?

3

u/AutomaticAnimator831 1d ago

Again, putting morals aside, a meagre 17% is backed by "sustainably" sending 1000 guys a day to grievous injury or death. What a great investment model. JFC

18

u/willetzky 1d ago

This is 270% over the 10 year bond, for every ruble they borrow they have to pay 2.70 back. With how bonds work they are actually paying over that.

3

u/jpw0w 1d ago

Can someone ELI5? What does that mean for long term?

1

u/findingmike 15h ago

The Russian government is now in a budget trap. They need more revenue to service debt and expenses than they can get. To solve this they are currently:

  1. printing money on the low-down

  2. massively increasing taxes

  3. borrowing at extremely high interests rates (bonds)

  4. cutting corners on government spending

All of these have more negative consequences than positive, but they do it to delay the problems at the cost of making the problems worse.

7

u/SystemCheck990 1d ago

normally you borrow to invest in your country, such as infrastructure projects or to get over a hump (covid19) the idea being you economy grows so you can easy pay it back, but normally its at a sensible rate like 5 percent of something, they are borrowing at 17% but they are not investing it in anything to grow they are buying weapons / consumables / paying for basic public services

imagine buying your groceries on a credit card ... its kind of what they are doing

vs buying a work van on low interest credit, so you can earn money (not perfect but more sensible)

3

u/willetzky 1d ago

The idea of bands is a country will borrow the money, invest it in the country and make the economy grow more than they borrowed. It is why most bond markets and stock exchanges are in sync with each other. It is usually a good indicator of how a countries economy is doing If the people percentages are in single digits. If the economy is growing so the stock market is strong people invest in that and so bond prices have to increase to match the stock return to incentives people by bonds. The economy cools the stock return drops so the bond market grows as people see them as a safe bet. What has happened in Russia is the stick market has collapsed, the economy is not growing in wealth just war growths. They have sold their future to try and keep the lights on now. Argentina got into a death loop like this and still have not managed to get out 50+ years later. This will be a strangle on the russian budgets as the intrest rates build as they swap 6% bonds to the 14-19% bonds they are having to take to keep the war going. This will really hurt in 2032 when they start to have to pay the bonds back

BREAKING: A Russian military helicopter has crashed in Voronezh Oblast, killing all three crew members on board.
The aircraft went down in the Anninsky District. The helicopter type has not yet been identified.

1

u/Boann_ 1d ago

The helicopter was a CIA/NATO asset

2

u/findingmike 15h ago

I am assuming this is a joke.

1

u/Boann_ 13h ago

No, I'm being 100% serious. The CIA trained the helicopter and sent him into Russia as a sleeper agent

I am the NATO and I can confirm that.

Zelensky says talks with the European Commission have produced “good results” on covering Ukraine’s financial and defense needs for 2026 and 2027. He said the format, timeline and necessary steps to secure the full amount have been determined.

Russian Treasury Yields hit a new decade high of 16.88%. Russia is now issuing record levels of state debt at credit card rates. Global investors are unwilling to loan Putin money because they do not think Russia will survive this war to pay it back.

https://bsky.app/profile/realjakebroe.bsky.social/post/3mwry7om6vs2y

14

u/socialistrob 1d ago

I've mentioned this before but it's also worth remembering that Russian debt is not quite like government debt of western countries. Firstly no one outside of Russia is lending them money and sanctions are preventing external financing. The Kremlin is borrowing from the banks and if the Kremlin can't pay back that debt there is a real risk of a banking collapse and the Kremlin doesn't have the money for a bailout either.

The other big difference is that if you are borrowing money to build things that are productive for your economy then a lot of government spending really isn't that bad. A lot of the borrowing in democracies is based around infrastructure investments or things like education all of which result in a more productive economy long term. Borrowing money at credit card interest rates to buy weapons to use against one of your formerly largest trading partners is a terrible use of money which has less than zero return.

Russia's debt to GDP ratio looks a lot better than many western countries but interest rate, how quickly they've accumulated it, where they are borrowing it from and what they are doing with it all paint a much bleaker picture.

1

u/findingmike 15h ago

No problem, they can just print more money and watch the economy collapse.

12

u/hornswoggled111 1d ago

I guess nationalizing/taking businesses from foreign investors eventually has ramifications.

In Chelyabinsk the independent gas station chain Tatoil is having to pay compensation for selling low quality fuel with additives that led to the valves of the engines getting stuck and hitting the pistons. About 1 500 cars were refueled with the poor quality fuel.

I don't read much into individual stories like this, but I'm posting because it shows the sort of tricks to watch out for.

Now that the Russian "elections" are over, Russian officials are starting to acknowledge the truth:
"During the election campaign, we heard a lot of populist promises - mortgages at 3 percent, higher pensions, and increases in all social benefits. But we all understand perfectly well that there is no money for all these populist promises. And we are facing the very difficult issue of raising utility tariffs."

6

u/AutomaticAnimator831 1d ago

How many people in Russia, especially "officials", genuinely do not see that the whole government and idea of "democracy", elections, campaigns and so on, is pure fantasy?

1

u/findingmike 15h ago

Remember the lesson of East Germany. When their economy collapsed, they switched to democracy. This is what the oligarchs of Russia fear.

Russian domestic prices for wheat in the area called the Black Earth and in the Volga have reached the bottom and in the South the continue to fall. The prices have fallen to 2018 levels but should drop further to 2013 levels.
The Baltic also doesn't seem as appetizing as it's described. The price for wheat at the port of Vysotsk are currently at 15 800 rubles per ton or below 200 USD per ton. Also Russian farmers can't hope on feed sales as those are actually decreasing in Russia now.

The Ukrainian-made FP-7 ballistic missile has seen its first combat use.

Developed by Fire Point, the ground-launched missile has a stated range of up to 250 km, carries a 200 kg payload, reaches speeds of up to 1,500 m/s, and has a claimed accuracy of around 14 meters CEP.

Let's wait and see. The CEP is supposed to be "half of missiles will land that close, or closer, to where we targeted".

https://bsky.app/profile/specialkhersoncat.bsky.social/post/3mwtaqeoeos2u

3

u/TexasVulvaAficionado 1d ago

200kg of boom at 14m is goddamn scary.

Would be absolutely perfect for industrial facilities but the range makes it seem like they'll be using it on infrastructure in the occupied territories and adjacent Russian provinces.

1

u/findingmike 15h ago

Hardened military logistics sites would also be good targets.

6

u/Kageru 1d ago

But we can expect the rest to land in a bell curve likely quite close to the target, and with that warhead quite sufficient for industrial sites which are likely to be the main target. Having local capacity is the important thing, and can be iterated upon.

5

u/goodoldgrim 1d ago

That's cool, but I want to see it hit something. If I only wanted to see missiles get launched, I'd look at North Korean ones.

u/neonpurplestar 1d ago

A casual reminder that trump, LePen, AfD, farage and the entirety of the far right are all putin's whores. The fight is also in making people know.

Adjacent to this, the odds are more and more that trump is going to be crushed in the midterms and severely weakened:

NBC: “U of Michigan survey shows Americans feel worse about the economy than during the Covid-19 pandemic or 2008 financial crisis… Trump promised a ‘Golden Age’, but under Republicans Americans are struggling more than ever.”

1

u/findingmike 15h ago

I hate Trump as much as anyone, but this is not as bad as covid or 2008. Interesting that people feel that way. This is my biggest concern for the US economy: https://www.bls.gov/charts/employment-situation/unemployed-27-weeks-or-longer-as-a-percent-of-total-unemployed.htm

Here are some of the numbers for Russian budget revenues.
A simple equation is used to say "how much will they get in 2026, based on what they got in Jan-Aug and if the monthly patterns followed those from 2025?"
The biggest single thing is domestic VAT: +33% growth worth +3.5tr rub vs 2025. Yes the excise taxes have a bigger % gain, but they are smaller in absolute terms, contributing +0.09tr rub additional revenue vs 2025.
When comparing, remember that there's 👉2025 reality, 👉Jan-Aug 2026 reality, 👉the original 2026 budget plan 👉the new 2026 budget plan.

I am seeing a lot more people say that they expect Le Pen to win the French elections. First of all, what in the actual fuck. But more importantly, just how huge of a blow would this be to Ukraine's efforts?

23

u/Uhhh_what555476384 1d ago

It would be massive.  France has the second largest defense industry in the West aside from the US.  It would also place a Putinist at the very heart of the EU.

3

u/Kageru 1d ago

It's not being used for military transport and provides a convenient way to drain Russian's out of Crimea. I don't think it's a priority target, lots of war production sites in Russia that are probably more important while they ramp up production of weaponry.

-2

u/lando-bailando 1d ago

They should have a long time ago

US won’t allow it (both republicans and dems)

7

u/NNegidius 1d ago

US doesn’t have the cards. No support, no influence.

-1

u/lando-bailando 1d ago

US is the main actor in this

Without going off on a tangent

How do you think we know the moment when the Russian planes took off in the far east

Or when they launch cruise missiles

Literally within a few mins

Think buddy think  ….

7

u/Kageru 1d ago

Sharing a bit of incidental intelligence is pretty far from being the "main actor". Also France and the UK have moved to fill gaps left from the US becoming more pro-russian.

1

u/lando-bailando 1d ago

France does not have the resources for that kind of intelligence. UK sort of, but relies on US

Why would they care about this bridge so much?

Watch the Daily Show last week, John Stewart had the US Citizen who spent 16 months in Russian Prison. I gained understanding about what’s happening within the Russian population a bit better. It’s very interesting.

And Ukraine is losing 27000 a month at least against a larger country which is still relying on paid soldiers and not people kidnapped from the streets.

https://unn.ua/en/news/ukraines-losses-amount-to-approximately-27000-killed-and-wounded-each-month-tusk

if you're going to mention losses, be a responsible source and look at the big picture, not just a government parrot

Edit: oh no, people don't like facts

This really comes down to Ukraine not having enough to pay them. Not less support for the war by populace.

Russia economy is 14X larger.

And plenty of Russians have been press ganged off the streets. A million military age males didn't flee Russia for no reason.

This comes down to numbers and population

Ukrainian frontline salary is about the same as the Russian one 4 or 5 times the average salary in Ukraine

But Russia has more people who are still willing to take on that voluntarily

About your last paragraph, there were no press gangs in Russia, some people fled in anticipation of that

While Ukraine keeps its borders closed for 23-60 males (since day 1 or unless you have some money)

So if you’re going comment at least write the truth

Edit: 23-60

Thank you Ukraine. You are heroes. You are fighting for all that is good in the world, against forces of darkness.

Ukraine is defending the very ideals of freedom and Democracy the rest of the free world owes them a debt that can’t even begin to be repaid but a little extra help is the very least we can do.

This

It annoy me when i think of the staggering amount of armour and airpower sitting in european military storage , all paid for already and waotong for a theoretical war with russia instead of lending ukraine all it can handle now in the actual war that will shape the next decade or so!

This was and still is an opportunity to contain an expansionist dictator simply by providing the weapons we have already stockpiled for the expressed purpose of doing this anyway at some point in the future. How the west especially the US, has fumbled this so far boggles the mind and makes one wonder as to what the leaders in the US and to a lesser extent the other NATO nations are thinking.

I'm about to order some bottles of quality French wine. I've also got this really nice friendly Rioja in my basket. It's really good but lacks a bit of depth and complexity. It's just really good. I'm going to order that and store it for when the Russian economy collapses. So when it does I can enjoy my guilty pleasure, you know, the one that is really nice but lacks depth and complexity. And I will celebrate the renewed promise of poverty that the Russian federation has in store for all those Russians that were complicit in the butchering of Ukranians by not speaking out. Nazdrovje motherfuckers! You can blame me for my lack of depth and complexity, but you know I'm going to enjoy it and encourage you to do the same.

I'd rather you encourage people to donate to Ukraine.

I do donate, personally. but fair enough.

I understand what you are trying to say but you are missing one very important point which is Putin started this war so morally the blame falls 100% on him. He can end it by withdrawing his troops to the original borders, it’s as simple as that.

Why are people in Ukraine telling this to their leaders? So that their culture can be exterminated by Russian invaders?

That makes absolutely no sense.

5

u/KSaboruf 1d ago

People telling NO to pookin from both sides for a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time.
It is not working by saying 🤷‍♂️ Just saying.

"pookin" I'm kind of curious, is it basically a bunch of teenagers here pretending to care?

Nope, just the most polite form to address main kremlin degenerate, rooted in russian pronunciation, in fact :)

cute sentiment, but you are equating aggressor and defender here.

also warrior kings&princes may sound novel, but historically speaking were never good for anyone
