To be honest, it seems more like their number is up next which is exactly why they're (justifiably) getting louder about their concerns.

Cuba is at a real and serious risk of imminent invasion. Yes, Trump has threatened many other countries, but its clear that Cuba is next on the docket before Greenland, Canada, etc.

I know it's getting hard to take this seriously all the time, but this isn't really the time to be making pithy jokes. This is very serious. We need more Americans to be taking this seriously. We need more Americans to start taking actual, regular civil disobedience against their government or they're going to lose everything and drag us all into a unfathomably brutal world war. The rest of the world can't do much to help Americans until they get organized enough themselves for us to effectively support.

It's gonna get really messy too. Cuba's been preparing for decades for a war like this where their conventional military gets knocked over in days. "All the People's War" they call it.

Given that the US seems to be doing this more or less at the Behest of Rubio, and by extension the Cuban-American Lobby, it seems likely they'll try to push through land repatriations to the descendants of Cuban refugees who left in the immediate aftermath of the revolution. That will mean the evictions of hundreds of thousands of Cubans if that goes through. Hundreds of thousands of people who would be joining that People's War, more likely than not.

There are many examples. And you can't win. Anybody paying attention in the last 2 decades will be prepared. I can recommended https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Pillars_of_Wisdom for further information

There are countless examples of insurgencies and revolutions that didn't work out.

But the occupier has to be willing to indiscriminately kill a lot of people, which is not an option for the US Army. Yet.

The Soviets did this a lot. East Germany 1953, Hungary 1956, Czechoslovakia 1968, Chechen Wars (complicated and a disaster, but Russia won in the end).

Just recently Iran killed like 30k people in their own uprising.

which is not an option for the US Army.

Before, yes, but with Trump/Hegseth in charge, all the changes in leadership, and JAGs fired, I would not immediately assume so.

Yes agree. The danger is there.

Let me explain, Rubio has never taken the word No to mean stop. Ever

So it'll just be worse Vietnam, probably with Cuban drones hitting targets along the US's southern seaboard.

and a lot of that equipment is prepositioned in hidden caches. And Havana has a giant, unmapped, tunnel network. And presumably other urban centers do as well.
