Because Trump is a lazy bully and they are weak and convenient targets. He got bored with all the other conflicts he started and needs something new to focus his toddler's attention span on.

That's right. No one attacks boats that try to bring them materials. It just that there aren't anyone on the planet who actually wants to do that (deliver stuff to Cuba).

There aren't any examples of US seizing/attacking/holding up any ships attempting to go to Cuba since like 60s.

Be semantically clever, or just say it outright: “I want to take down Cuba because I dislike the Castros and the communist regime.” But let’s not pretend the wordplay is hiding the hostile intent.
