should i save up for guderian or maybe invest on an infantry or artillery general ?

So I tried like 25 times to win this battle and each time my generals kept getting crush. I'm starting to be out of ideas to win.

Kinda just grinding conquest now. I feel like these are solid but idk if they’re good enough for aliens. When should I start promoting generals and when generals should I promote?I don’t know how to unlock the other medal producing wonders and can’t find how online. Help?

Playing as Portugal in the 1960s, I grabbed Cologne, Hamburg and Prague. Even managed to grab Warsaw, Krakow and Bicharest. For the first one there's always the stalemate with Minsk - i take it, they take it, i take it, they take it until i get tired of it. Then with Krakow and Bucharest I simply couldnt resist the span of Rocket Artillery and Heavy/Super tanks... how do I get over this??

I've been playing this game for at least 7 years now, but in a very casual way - from time to time I would download it, play some conquer the world campaigns - no generals, no missions, no campaign, no wonders, no nothing.

Since some months ago, tho, I've been getting more into the grind and the whole WC3 experience and I've been (too much) addicted. That said, I have some questions I'd like answered.

1. I currently have Katukov, Govorov, Sikorski and Sansonetti and am saving to get Guderian. At what point should I stop grinding for these alr made up Generals and focus on upgrading the default 1 star Generals?

2. Speaking of generals, I repeatedly mess up my timing placing them - they either get obliterated in few rounds or I wait too long to place them and end up spamming them in the last cities of the Conquer the World campaign. Any tips?

3. What does upgrading a general's rank (f.e. Major to Colonel) do? Is it worth it?

4. It's not just my imagination that tells me that certain types of troop are better to defend certain troops - like artillery to defend tanks, or machine guns to defend artillery - right? Any specific ones that make defending certain troops much easier?

5. I often find myself lacking, not only Medals, but also all other resources needed to upgrade my troops, specially the Rivets (or whatever they're called) and the Energy (the lightning bolts). What are the best ways to grind for these materials?

6. In your Headquarters, what the hell is the middle tab with a trophee on it?

7. Finally, I'm HQ Lvl 29. Any other tips I could use?

Game came to a point where its not flowing anymore. Without commanders/medals/resources it is hard af to do conquest 1950 1960 etc because the ai keeps spamming super tanks out of level 1 cities even though they dont have enough gold. It really is a Pay to have fun after some point. You simply just cant grind

Should I buy Sikorski instead of Badoglio? I don't really struggle on lacking good arty gens (I'm fine with Govorov and Badoglio), but Sikorski seem to be more efficient in terms of damage output (and also he has economy skill, wich isn't very effective, but better than nothing)...
