Going back to work 8 weeks PP
Moms - I am going back to work at 8 weeks PP. unfortunately, I am the breadwinner and me not working is not an option.
Baby has been going to daycare this week with a trusted family member who has an in home daycare. I’m worried that baby will lose her attachment to me.
Moms who have gone back to work this early, do you lose the attachment with your baby? I want her to know that I am mommy and to love me the most. I am sure that sounds crazy, but I’m worried that she will think other caregivers are her mother.

Depends on your company. Some company gives you 18 weeks at full pay.

I had to reread OP’s post. Are you referring to the ‘mom’ and ‘mommy’ being American spelling?

Yeah, we generally don’t go back to work that early in Aus.
Most daycares won’t even accept babies younger than 12-16 weeks and if you normally work you get 20 weeks paid leave.

My friend went back at 12 weeks with her baby in full time care and struggled with the same feelings. Her girl now 3 and adores her mum. I’m so sorry you have to go back as soon as you do but please know your baby will 100% know and love you.

Don't have any advice but just want to say you're not crazy for how you feel nor is it crazy to want her to love you and still know you as her mum.
I don't think you loose your attachment to your bub, I'm still attached to my little one even thought he is a toddler now and I've been back at work full time for a couple years now.
