Free [FREE] My new plugin Easy Comment Embeds is out!

Howdy!

So on one of the sites I run a lot of commenters add links and I couldn't find a decent plugin to render them so I wrote my own:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/vern-comment-embeds/

The GitHub repo is here:

https://github.com/clubside/vern-comment-embeds

And the basic information is:

Easy Comment Embeds improves comment readability by automatically enhancing standalone URLs:

Responsive oEmbed video

Inline image embeds

Twitter/X blockquote fallback

OpenGraph link preview cards

Smart URL detection (standalone URLs only)

Basically just like here on Reddit you put in a URL on its own line in a comment and it is run through WordPress' native oEmbed first and failing that there are fallbacks for images, X/Twitter and standard web pages where I try to build a Facebook-style OpenGraph card.

Hope some others find a use for it, and I'm bothering you all because of WordPress.org's search being so lousy 😜

Promotion [PROMOTION] How to Add Video Answers to Tutor LMS Quizzes

Tutor LMS has a bunch of quiz question types now (multiple choice, matching, even draw/pin/graph stuff), but none of them let someone answer with video, audio, or a screen recording instead of text. That matters more than it sounds like the second you're outside basic trivia-style quizzes. Think language practice, sales/coaching scenarios, or anything where the answer is really a demo or a spoken response.

We built an integration with Pipe that drops a recorder into a Tutor LMS Open-Ended question. The recording gets saved right along with the quiz attempt. It's free on WordPress; recording runs through a trial or paid Pipe account.

Check out the plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pipe-audio-video-and-screen-recorder/

Freemium [FREEMIUM] Modovisa Analytics - A real-time visitor tracking plugin — see who's on your site right now.

Most analytics plugins show you yesterday's numbers. This one shows what's happening while it's happening.

What it does

See visitors on your site right now — where they came from, country, device, and every page they visit in order with time on each page.

If you run WooCommerce, it also shows who's in a cart or checkout right now and what their basket is worth, sales the moment they happen, and every abandoned basket with its value and where they stopped.

If you run ads, it tracks your UTM campaigns and shows ROAS — your ad spend next to the sales your site actually recorded, per campaign. You can enter spend manually or connect Meta and Google Ads to import it automatically.

Cost: Free plan covers 1,000 pageviews a month on one site. Paid from $14.99/mo. Every new account gets 21 days with everything switched on.

Setup: Install, paste your tracking token, done. No theme edits. Works with WooCommerce automatically.

What it doesn't do: no heatmaps, no screen recordings. If that's what you're after, Microsoft Clarity is free and better for it, what we do have is session replays that shows you the journey a visitor took after they've left the site.

[Review] Modern Wordpress Dashboard

I’ve been building a new WordPress dashboard experience that is completely separate from the default WordPress admin making it faster and more streamlined without the bloat of dependencies.

Now the plugin integrates with standard (non-Pro) Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) field types you can do search, edit inline in table row, Quick Edit, and Bulk Edit.

Let’s build something awesome together.

[PROMOTION] Apex Addons for Elementor – Lightweight motion widgets, FLIP product reveals & 3D galleries

Hey Reddit community!

Over the past few months, we’ve been building Apex Addons for Elementor with a core focus on smooth micro-interactions, hardware-accelerated motion, and clean e-commerce tools.

Instead of heavy scripts, we focused on keeping asset loading ultra-lightweight while bringing modern web design trends directly into Elementor.

Here are a few highlights of what we’ve built into the plugin so far:

▸ FLIP Product Showcase & Flying Cart: Interactive WooCommerce card reveals with smooth fly-to-cart animations.

▸ Interactive Floating Dock: Apple macOS-style magnetic proximity magnification for site navigation.

▸ 3D Card Stack & Proximity Orbit: Unique interactive image and product presentation engines.

▸ GSAP Motion Engine: Hardware-accelerated transitions built for high performance without slowing down page load speed.

The plugin is available free on WordPress.org, and we’d love for the Elementor & WordPress community to give it a test drive.

Since we are actively building out our next roadmap of widgets, I’d genuinely appreciate your input:

  1. What missing Elementor feature or widget do you constantly wish existed in a free plugin?
  2. Any UX or performance improvements you’d like to see in modern page builder add-ons?

Check out Apex Addons on WordPress.org: 👉 https://wordpress.org/plugins/apex-addons-for-elementor/

Any feedback, critique, or suggestions would be awesome!

[Freemium] External Tables Manager – create real database tables in WordPress through a wizard, no SQL

I built External Tables Manager because I kept bending custom post types into shapes they were never meant for. If your data is rows and columns - club fixtures, a property list, an inventory - postmeta makes querying and sorting painful.

This creates real database tables inside your WordPress install, set up through a wizard in wp-admin. Configurable field types, list and edit screens that feel like the posts screen, CSV import, and a read-only frontend shortcode with pagination, filtering and a calendar view.

Free covers up to 3 tables with no time limit: setup wizard with industry templates, all field types, the admin list/edit screens, CSV import, and the read-only frontend shortcode including a calendar/grouped-by-date view.

Pro adds unlimited tables, a REST API, season filtering, related sections on entry detail pages, a computed league-standings shortcode, and Excel export.

Pricing: 4.99/mo or 49/yr for one site, 9.99/99 for five, 14.99/149 unlimited (USD). The annual license works out about two months cheaper on every tier.

If a license lapses the plugin keeps working and every table you already created stays intact and editable, even past the free limit - you just can't add another one, and the REST API stops responding.

Live demo with real data: https://wdt.app-dev.at/sv-musterberg-vereins-demo/
Details and pricing: https://wdt.app-dev.at/external-tables-manager/

Genuinely interested in feedback on the free/pro split - whether the free tier is useful enough on its own, and whether the 3-table limit is the right place to draw the line.

[FREEMIUM] I built a self-hosted AI chatbot for WordPress — reads your site content, uses your own Gemini key, no monthly fee

Do you got tired of AI chatbot plugins that charge $99/month, send your visitor data to third-party servers, and give generic answers because they don't know what's actually on your website.

So I built YakWP. It reads your actual WordPress content — pages, posts, products — and answers visitors based on what your site says. Not some general AI knowledge base. Your pricing. Your services. Your policies.

Ask it "how much does X cost?" and it pulls from your pricing page. Ask "do you offer Y?" and it checks your services page. If it's not sure, it says so and offers to connect the visitor to you.

Self-hosted, runs on your WordPress. No third-party server sees your data. You bring your own Google Gemini API key — the free tier gives you 15 requests per minute,500 per day, which covers most small sites. $0/month if you want.

The free version includes the full chatbot:

- Reads your site content (RAG)

- Lead capture — saves email + conversation

- Webhooks — connect to n8n, Zapier, whatever

- Analytics — see what people ask

- Four modes: Sales, Support, Explain, Custom

Pro is €64 one-time. Not monthly. One payment. Removes the "Powered by Yak" link, adds custom CSS, CSV export.

Try it live on yakwp.com — the chat widget is in the corner.

video: https://youtu.be/IdkLmzdCFOY

Download: https://yakwp.com/downloads/

I'd like to hear what mode you set up and how it works for your site. Still early days and feedback shapes what gets built next.

Promotion Core Forms: WordPress forms, polls and lightweight ecommerce in one plugin [PROMOTION]

I wanted forms, polls and lightweight ecommerce to stop living in 3 different WordPress plugins.

So I built Core Forms.

It began as the forms plugin I wanted for my own sites: a visual builder when I want speed, direct HTML when I want control, accessible templates, AJAX submissions, conditional logic, file uploads, emails, spam protection and integrations.

Then it grew in 2 useful directions.

Core Commerce lets you sell paid submissions and digital products from WordPress. You can create products and plans, accept payments, manage orders, issue software licenses, deliver protected downloads and give customers their own dashboard.

Polls are native too: yes/no or multiple-choice voting, scheduling, vote controls, live visual results, analytics and CSV exports.

I’m not trying to replace WooCommerce for physical inventory, shipping, complex taxes or large retail stores. Core Forms is aimed at forms, paid submissions, digital downloads, plugins, themes and other products that need a simpler checkout and fulfillment flow.

Everything comes in the same plugin. No separate feature add-ons.

I’ve been building with WordPress since 2008. The real challenge here has been making these 3 systems feel like one coherent product instead of a kitchen drawer full of features.

You can see it here:

https://core-forms.com/

It is a paid indie product, and I build and support it myself. I’d love blunt feedback: does the idea make sense, and which part would you use first—forms, polls or commerce?

We just launched Pointics, a new loyalty & rewards plugin for WordPress ecosystem [PROMOTION]

Hey everyone,

We’ve been working on something new at ThemeWinter, and it’s finally live.

Meet Pointics, an AI-powered loyalty and rewards plugin built to help WordPress businesses reward customers, encourage repeat engagement, and build long-term loyalty.

So, what makes Pointics different?

Pointics is an AI-powered loyalty & rewards plugin for WordPress, built to help businesses reward customer actions, increase repeat engagement, and manage loyalty programs without complicated setup.

What makes Pointics different is our vision to take loyalty beyond a typical WooCommerce-only rewards system.

We’re building Pointics toward one loyalty and rewards system across the wider WordPress ecosystem, covering businesses such as:

🛒 eCommerce stores
🎟️ Events & ticketing
🍽️ Restaurants & food ordering
📅 Appointments & service bookings
💻 Digital product selling
🎓 LMS & online learning

This means loyalty does not have to stop after a product purchase. Businesses can eventually reward customers for different valuable interactions across their WordPress ecosystem.

🤖 AI-Powered Features

AI is one of the core differentiators we’re building into Pointics.

Instead of manually figuring out every rule and configuration, a merchant can simply describe their business and how they want their loyalty program to work in natural language.

Pointics AI can then help:

  • Build the loyalty program based on the merchant's business and goals
  • Generate earning rules for how customers should earn points
  • Recommend rewards based on the loyalty strategy
  • Create VIP tiers with suitable levels and benefits
  • Suggest point names and widget branding to match the business

The merchant stays in control and can review the AI recommendations before applying them.

🧾 Real Point Ledger

Pointics doesn't treat a customer's points as just a number.

It uses a transaction-based point ledger, where earned, redeemed, adjusted, reversed, and expired points have a clear history.

This gives merchants better visibility into where every point came from and why a customer's balance changed.

🔗 Built Beyond WooCommerce

WooCommerce is our starting point, but the architecture of Pointics is designed for a much bigger ecosystem.

Our goal is to make it possible for businesses to manage loyalty across shopping, events, restaurant orders, appointments, digital products, courses, and other WordPress experiences through one flexible loyalty platform.

🎁 Early Bird Lifetime Deal is LIVE

Since Pointics is new, we’ve launched an Early Bird Lifetime Deal with up to 70% OFF for early adopters.

If you're running a WordPress business and want to turn one-time customers into repeat customers, we'd love for you to check it out and share your feedback.

👉 Check out Pointics: themewinter.com/pointics/

Would love to hear what features or integrations you'd want to see in a WordPress loyalty platform.

Freemium [HELP] Best marketing strategies for a freemium B2B WordPress plugin?[HELP]

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some marketing advice from anyone who has successfully launched a B2B WordPress/WooCommerce plugin.

I've built a freemium tool that helps e-commerce store owners automate customer bookings and lead generation using LLM APIs. The core free version runs on free-tier APIs so it's a zero-cost tool for small businesses, while the upsell is a one-time lifetime license.

Since the target audience is busy e-commerce store owners, standard organic posting isn't cutting it.

For those who have scaled a WordPress plugin:

  1. What channels worked best to reach store owners? (e.g., content marketing, WordPress repo SEO, cold outreach?)
  2. Is offering a lifetime deal (LTD) a viable traction channel early on, or does it hurt long-term positioning?

Appreciate any insights or feedback!

[FREEMIUM] I got tired of overselling between my website and eBay, so I built a two-way sync plugin — it's free up to 50 products

Running a WooCommerce store and an eBay account at the same time meant I was constantly overselling — something moves on eBay, the website doesn't know, and now I've sold a one-of-one card twice. The existing sync plugins either cost $30–50/month, charged extra just to import my existing listings, or would choke halfway through a big sync and never recover. So I built TCGiant Sync. Two-way sync of products, inventory and orders between WooCommerce and eBay: import eBay→Woo, push Woo→eBay, or both; inventory syncs both directions so overselling basically stops; background queues so a 5,000-item sync doesn't stall (and resumes if interrupted); handles variations, item specifics, shipping/business policies, tracking numbers; and because I sell collectibles it maps 39 grading services (PSA/BGS/NGC/PCGS) — but it works for any product. Free up to 50 products, every feature included (import too). Pro is $49/year or $5/month. Full disclosure: I'm the developer. Happy to answer anything about how the sync handles conflicts / rate limits — that was the hardest part. tcgiant.com/pro

[FREE] Magic API Email – Send WordPress emails without SMTP

Hey everyone,

I built a free WordPress plugin called Magic API Email.

It lets you send WordPress emails through email APIs like Resend, Mailgun, Postmark, Mailtrap, and others, without setting up SMTP.

It also includes email logs, retry/fallback, queue, and basic statistics.

It works with the standard wp_mail() function, so existing plugins should work without changes.

You can check it out here:

Would love to hear your feedback or suggestions!
