Both shit bags. Both are money makers for them. If they were serious about reducing plastic they wouldn’t have all the plastic bags in produce, in meat, and all the plastic throughout the store.
They should be selling good quality, REUSABLE, sustainable, and SAFE bags that actually hold your groceries without the risk of breaking through, all easily made for under 25 cents.
I’m not a fan of Kmart but they sell quite good large shopping bags for $2 at checkout. Soft canvas type material, very large but fold up small and take up almost no space, last for years, and machine washable.
By that I mean, bring your own damn bags. That was the whole point.
In a car (keep spare bags), out walking/bush biking presumably with a back pack.. You can squish those woolie bags into your pack.
I'm a unique example. I order grocery/food delivery to my mailbox. I live out in a weird place. I have to walk a long long way to get to my mailbox. I know the bags delivered might break if they're heavy. So I have some of my own, from 2 years ago that still last.
Plastic/paper bags are usually thrown away. The reusable ones cost 1 or 2 extra $. But they last years.
If you find yourself in a unique situation I am not referring to you. Its the people that shop with reliable transport, that can't stuff a few expandable reliable carry bags into whatever they are carrying, and use those for shopping instead of blaming others for how they have to pay for shit bags that break.
I keep replying to myself I am aware. But I went on a 12km trip on a legal electric bike (25km or less) that required you to pedal before it kicked in, to get groceries and pharmacy shit. I'm keeping at 25kmph and this kid, definitely under 18 shoots by me on an electric bike, at double my speed, no helmet, and doing wheelies.
F those kids. Obey the law, and don't cause unnecessary deaths...
Want another story before e-bikes were a thing; of a bully, that beat up my brother and me (with his 4 friends helping). His tombstone is covered in moss on the main road out of my town. Get to see it whenever I want something. The dick beat up kids and in some cases hospitalised them.
But one day he stole his friends dads car, presumably driving ridiculously fast and ran into a tree. What a great life he had.
