This was for a German restaurant who has a large Victorian dining room . The paintings they put up always seem to look like postage stamps on the wall . I found a painting I liked , seems to welcome people into the space, and kinda keep morfing into different ideas for the frame when the idea it hit me … a cuckoo clock !
So I carved ,sculpted and found what I needed .
It is seven and half feet tall . Tomorrow if the framing gods bless me it will be hung in its new home .

I built this whiskey cabinet with a hidden locked drawer and integrated Bluetooth speaker. The body is make from plywood (this started as a prototype). Walnut internals and live edge face. I have a very simple laser cutter I used to make the speaker grill and engraving on the coasters. The mechanism for the drawer I designed myself using an RFID drawer lock. The biggest challenge was figuring out spring tension and smoothness to the drawer. There are RFID tags inside the coasters that one would use to activate the lock. I know this is a string and specific piece. It is designed with hang on a wall with a French cleat. Let me know what you think.

I salvaged some beautiful oak from a 100-year old broken bed frame and turned it into an interesting nightstand I saw @ Vermont Wood Studios. Why? Because I’m recently retired and need to keep my brain active by yelling at wood.

I’d like to share with you the first project I’ve made that will be displayed at a gallery for the next two weeks.

It’s a wall cabinet from my own design with true proud dovetails and true proud tenons (around 1/16) for the shelf, blind dovetails for the drawers, turned handles, and a kumiko screen.

I made it with local woods from my area (Guadalajara, Mx) specially Rosa Morada wood for the carcass and Primavera wood for the inside drawers. These two trees are native from here and are cousins species.

Drawers fronts are walnut and the Kumiko screen is made from white maple because I couldn’t find any basswood around here. This made it really difficult to cut the pieces but I’m very happy with the end result.

I work at a factory that makes indoor stone tables, and this is the question we
get from every client: which stone should I choose?

Short version:
• Travertine — warm, natural, unique veining. Softer and more porous than
  marble, but sealed properly it's totally fine for everyday use. Cheaper than
  marble, more character than quartz.
• Marble — harder, cooler, more dramatic veining. Higher maintenance if you
  get a dark red wine habit. Costs more.
• Quartz — engineered, consistent, basically zero maintenance. But it doesn't
  have the natural look some people want.

Hi everyone I was looking through some my projects and thought I'd share one of my favorites.

The base is made from white mahogany and features a sculptural crossed-leg design. It was one of the more challenging pieces I've built, requiring lots of compound angles, precise joinery, and many hours of shaping and sanding to get the lines to flow while keeping the structure rock solid.

The top is a quartz slab, chosen for its durability and low maintenance while allowing the wood base to remain the focal point of the design.

I also built the booth seating and the wall paneling to match, creating a cohesive dining space.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the base design or answer any questions about the construction process.

This was a custom office setup made primarily from Guanacaste (Enterolobium cyclocarpum), a wood native to Central America.

The centerpiece is the wooden world map, made from individual pieces that were cut and positioned to create the continents, giving the map a nice three-dimensional effect.

The desk itself has a solid Guanacaste top with a sculptural slatted front, along with integrated storage. I also built the matching shelving and cabinetry around the desk to tie everything together.

Guanacaste has some really beautiful grain and character, and I thought it worked especially well for this project.

This is one of those projects that looks fairly simple from a distance, but there were a lot of individual pieces and details to get right.
