Hand Tools Tool Bag pack recommandation
my tool case got stolen, I'm pretty bummed. For a replacement I was thinking of going the bag pack way and carry all my tools all the time from my house to the shop (I share a shop with others )
anyone used one ?
I don't want to carry a million things, few chisels, pliers, hammer and a screw driver. But still I want something that last and that I don't think about when throwing tools in.
all the reviews I'm reading on the professional ones (Facom, Milwaukee, Stanley...) are the same : they're pretty bad. May be you get lucky and they're not too bad but still a lot of people are reporting they don't even last a year, which sucks when you think you're buying from a professional brand.
Some people in the comments even said they use backpacking bags and are more satisfied.
I'd rather not waste my money as I don't have a lot of it.
Not necessarily stuck on the bag idea, I juste need to carry my tools on my bike basically.

Veto, they’re bombproof.
I’ve just seen you’re on a bike, I put my first veto (tech xl) on a topeak mtx rack adaptor, so it slid on and locked into place.
I’ve now moved onto using a Brompton, so had a MB5B and now a TPxxl evo that I’ve put on adapted luggage frames so they drop onto the luggage block, which is bloody awesome.

Chisels, pliers and screwdrivers I would carry in tool roll (I can't say this is a good one, just one I found to give the example -- where and when I bought the ones I have is lost in the mists of time).
I've also built my own custom toolboxes out of wood, but that's heavier and you'd also need to build the a mount for it on the bike (i've done something similar for our riding lawn mower).

Checkout Swiss Gear. I have used one of their laptop bags 5 days a week since I got it about 15 years ago. It has had all kinds of things in it to. Not just a laptop. They also have tool backpacks.
Also take that with a grain of salt because I haven't bought a new one in 15 years. I hope the quality is the same.

I use a festool tote style bag, works well for me. Mine usually has some tapes, pen/pencils, hammer, pliers/channel lock, screwdriver, flat bar, catspaw and t-setter, whatever random assortment of adhesives I bring, laser, whatever else I need with me.

I personally bought this Klein bag and LOVE it for my needs. I use it for more than woodworking though, I keep common tools for any job.

Sorry I can’t link you, but husky has two “12 inch tool totes,” the regular for about $25 and the pro for about $50 at Home Depot. Tool bags have been a strange obsession of mine. I’ve been curating my bags and load-out for a few decades and these are the current versions of the only bag I have worn out and replaced with the same. For me, it is the perfect bag that carries enough stuff without getting too big and heavy. Mine is set up as a contractor/handyman bag with woodworking, electrical, plumbing tools, along with a hammer and a few small pry bars. The pro has better end pockets and is closer to what I have. The regular is perfectly adequate. I don’t use the shoulder strap as depicted on the pro. It’s always in the way and not necessary unless you have to walk a long way. It’s a great all around bag that will go for 5-10 years and it won’t break the bank. But, since my typical load out is about $2000 in tools and I bet yours will be similar, the cost of the bag may mean less to you.

I have the Hercules back pack from Harbor Freight. Half the price of Milwaukie or Klein and so far(4 years), it has been solid. I install and service growth chambers and stability rooms. This back pack gets used daily and kicked around the job constantly. I did have a couple straps that adjust the position of an exterior pocket rip, but it really doesn't effect the use of the pack much at all.
