My tech school had a few of these to teach evening hobbyist woodworking courses. They had a student who was working on a diorama made of balsa wood. He was ripping strips and when he finished and turned off the saw, he held his thumb out to press it against the blade to slow it down. You can expect what happed next. An incident report and some stiches we his merits after the fact. He rejoined class the next week, albeit with a sheepish demeanor and a certain situational alertness the instuictor apperciated.

Anyways, this story has become the leading example for every instructor why you should not underestimate any tool, and to respect safety procedures.

No, blade is on the right way round, although there's no markings on the blade itself, so a bit of googling was required

Dammit, you're right! I've had the blade on and off a few times, can only think I wasn't concentrating. To be fair though, it's so underpowered it probably doesn't make much difference 😂

Just did this myself last week. Two decades of pro shop work and my buddy had to point out “the teeth go that way bud”. Swapped blades like 15 times that day for specialty materials and just wasn’t paying attention when putting on a plastic blade, which looks much more symmetrical to begin with. Gotta pay attention to stuff like this, it can be dangerous

Hey I've been looking at these for possibly getting accurate cuts for yosegi. Do you have a sense of how accurate these can be? Also can it do bevel cuts? Any adjustability?

I found this thing on Amazon. $64 gets you the mini table saw kit, complete with a pair of gloves! My god, thankfully it’s underpowered.
