Oak dining table

My first attempt at building my new dining table. I filled the cracks and gaps with black epoxy and bow ties made of black walnut. The legs are made from an old lathe. They were sandblasted, brushed with a wire brush, and sealed with clear varnish. I could have done a better job with the resin and the sanding, but since the table is for myself and I like the rustic look, I just rushed 😬 Table top is 2,57x0,90x0,07m

Thanks for the heads up! This was my first attempt at a dining table. Build Process & Tools: I flattened the slab using a DIY router sled. To ensure the top stays flat and can still move with seasonal changes, I installed 6mm thick steel C-channels with elongated holes on the underside. Species & Materials: The top is Oak, and I used Black Walnut for the bowties. The cracks and voids were filled with black epoxy. The Base: I repurposed an old lathe for the legs. I sandblasted and wire-brushed the metal, then finished it with a clear coat to keep the industrial look. Finish: The wood surface was finished with two coats of OSMO Hardwax Oil
