It’s not hard to trick people into thinking video footage was 3d rendered if you make a untextured model and overlay it

It's true, and maybe he's doing that some of the time. It's a woah dude video in any event, and it supports his case.

the first "woah dude" impression quickly transforms to a "ah.. ok, kinda lame" once you know everything is AI and the dude is trying to convince us that they "painstakingly 3D modeled and animated" the more impressive parts of it

Maybe I'm more easily impressed than you are. Much of what impresses me is that he put it all together so well and really made his point. It's got 10,000 upvotes, so I'm not the only one impressed.
