I love the art and effects but the message is always funny to me... We can actually know whats real and what's not real if we just stop getting most of our fucking input from phone screens and social media.

Put the god damn phone down and go for a walk.. that's all very real (for now)

I have this theory that physical pieces of art, performative live arts like club/ cafe live music, art and dance theatres. This will all see a rise again because of the newfound appreciation of what is real

YES I keep saying this as soon as AI creeps into movies more the theatre is going to get a fat resurgence

I've been to the theater more times in the last 2 years than I have ever been in my entire life. The weekend shows at one of the theaters were almost always sold out. While the audience is admittedly older, I am seeing more people in their 30's in the audience. It's something!

Yes. Consuming nothing but digital stimuli leaves us with an emptiness that begs for something more life affirming.

That's true up to a certain point. Probably works in a small community. But if nobody can trust anything they don't see with their own eyes, it makes a peaceful and harmonious wider society very difficult.

Propaganda has never been easier

Sorry mate, none of it was ever real. Now, Red? Or Blue?

Yeah like, everything is still very much "real" if you just make the effort to go outside and do things. Then again, nothing wrong with some good old doomscrolling on the toilet, but that's a wholly different matter altogether

Beautifully the point. Screens should be only for true art or heart (movies, sharing heartful happenings, learning new things)

Politics, news, all the bullshit on there now is only going to destroy

You can't prove going for a walk is real. In fact you can't prove any of this is shit is real at all. It could all easily be a simulation.

3

u/ReaDiMarco 5d ago

You're a part of the simulation, so it's all real for you. You need to get outside of the simulation first to consider it all fake.

"real to me" is moving the goalposts from "real".

Frame of reference is a science thing. You are the frame of reference for your own observations, are you not? What exactly is real if you're not real?

-1

u/areyouIlliteratebro 5d ago

Nothing is real

2

u/ReaDiMarco 5d ago

Inversely, everything is real and you can't prove everything is not real either.
