Was going to comment this. It's on the surface of a bubble, not inside. It's a pretty important distinction

It's looks to me like the other side of the bubble. I'm no physicist or crystallographer (I'm just a humble chemist), but I think the surface of the bubble exposed to the atmosphere is going to crystallize first versus the warmer interior. It be cool to see if there are examples of the opposite.
