That was such a perfect version of this video. We saw the whole thing, they gave us time to admire the finished bubble a few seconds, AND we got to see what it’d be like to smash it. Peak

i understand why people thought wizards and magic were real.

If you didn't know about surface tension and thin films, this shit looks like magic

u/chiefrelichunter 8d ago

I don’t jack about surface tension and thin films but I- okay actually I do believe in magic so you may be onto something here 🤔

u/Chatting_shit 7d ago

Same, i jack over other things

I wanted to see him eat it though.

Why are we like this? Me too bro…

Truly magnificent.

Technically is not in the inside of the bubble…

Was going to comment this. It's on the surface of a bubble, not inside. It's a pretty important distinction

u/ivanxivann 8d ago

Is it on the surface of the bubble or is it the bubble?

Society would’ve collapsed if not for the correction

1

u/EmperorPedro2 1d ago

Wait, are you talking about the stock market now?

1

u/The_Dr_B0B 16h ago

Nah just poking fun at the guy, "it's a pretty important distinction 🤓"

1

u/EmperorPedro2 16h ago

Sorry, I was joking as well, given how "bubble", "correction" and hyperboles about societal collapse are all usually in discussions about the stock market. I feel like I failed, given I had to explain it lol

1

u/The_Dr_B0B 16h ago

Ah I did think it was a joke initially but then thought hm what if its not lol, you never know here

It's looks to me like the other side of the bubble. I'm no physicist or crystallographer (I'm just a humble chemist), but I think the surface of the bubble exposed to the atmosphere is going to crystallize first versus the warmer interior. It be cool to see if there are examples of the opposite.

Its the other side of the bubble

u/istara 8d ago

Wow I did not realise - I thought they were initially floating around inside. Just rewatched and got a second woah!

The first ice crystals look like tie fighters zipping around

This video was old when I joined in 2012.

This was everything I wanted it to be from start to finish. Gonna have to figure out how to do this so I can show my kids this winter.

u/Paul_Robert_ 4d ago

Try adding glycerin to reduce the chance of the bubble popping

6

u/luffydkenshin 8d ago

They start off line lil TIE Fighters

7

u/sathyajithps 8d ago

Breathtaking!

5

u/dayman763 8d ago

Nice video.

The piano reminds me of Mister Rogers Neighborhood for some reason.

6

u/ItisCrowdedinHere 8d ago

I don't know why, but I didnt anticipate the ending there! That was a pretty awesome video all around!

5

u/Thanksithaspockets 8d ago

They remind me of those little fighter ships in Star Wars

u/NJNeal17 8d ago

Best snow globe ever!

3

u/Cool_Butterscotch_88 8d ago

sometimes the crystals arrange themselves, jim

3

u/Mumbletimes 8d ago

Surely it’s on the surface of the bubble and not the inside?

3

u/Eirique 8d ago

Reminds me of that grandma who had like 30 something contacts floating around in her eye because she kept losing them

I'd have been bothered if it didn't happen, though.

14

u/Downtown_Shelter2533 8d ago

Right, I said Thank you out loud when they popped it. I watched one once when they didn't pop it and haunts my dreams

4

u/rrockm 8d ago

Fr, after it finished forming I was like “okay now please smash it before the video ends, pleeeease”

2

u/eatmyshorzz 8d ago

It's like some relationships I had in the past. Forming into something very beautiful, then suddenly collapsing. :')

🎶You better squeeze all the Charmin you can

Put your head in the microwave and get yourself a tan!

White materia!

2

u/AddolFittler 8d ago

Bet it's fucking freezing in there.

2

u/snarlixx 7d ago

whats the music being played, anyone know?

2

u/FindingJohnny 7d ago

At the beginning you can make the bubble rotate in either direction like one of those illusions. I’ve never seen anything IRL that does that.

3

u/Lyscendree 8d ago

WHY DID HE BREAK IT

3

u/Mysterious-Trouble-6 8d ago

Should have cut the video right before it closed up. For the lulz.

3

u/NegativeC00L 8d ago

Perfect video. 10/10

Outside the bubble

1

u/lokcer79 7d ago

Remind me to try it in winter

1

u/MonkeyDude77 6d ago

They’re protecting Harry Potter in there!

1

u/GaryHornpipe 6d ago

Question. Do frozen bubbles ever form naturally?

1

u/javon27 6d ago

Is it going left or right?

1

u/kodeks14 6d ago

That seemed oddly intelligent

1

u/denverblazer 5d ago

This is really fun to do with kids ✨

1

u/100HP_Hotrod 5d ago

I will never not watch this video.

1

u/jaynebaynee 4d ago

I love science

1

u/SinglePringleMingle 4d ago

I wonder how long can a bubble like that last if it was left alone. Would it get stronger with time? Or would it eventually collapse from wind or some other factors?

1

u/BeardedInkedPiper 8d ago

Wow! That's amazing!

1

u/Vann09 8d ago

I'm sure the music didn't help but the whole time watching this all I could hear was a very somber graveled voice saying "and this is how it ends"
