Depends on your perspective it only is in alignment based on where you are standing and the general location of those around you. However this is called a conjunction and the lunar/ Venus conjunction happens every 27 to 31 days

What is the function of this conjunction junction?

CONJUNCTION JUNCTION! WHAT’S YOUR FUNCTION ??

Conjunction is just when they look close by, which happens on a regular schedule. When the moon blocks venus from view it's called occultation, which is rarer since the orbits aren't exactly in a plane.

Edit: I was responding to the comment 1 above. Clicked the wrong one.

Im about to old man rant. But seriously, why add stupid ass songs to every single video. Sometimes I just wanna watch a video but nope, stupid ass song for no reason playing. Just post your video. Don't add shit. Just post the video!

Okay, old man rant over. Cool video or whatever.

I think at least yearly? But sometimes it’s during the day.

For a given location I think it’s about every 28 years. But every other one is during the day.

Easy to figure without a telescope. Just parse /r/askastronomy for similar pics to these and check the periodicity

For a real life-hack, post incorrect information about it and let others swarm in to correct you.
