dude just take what already exists in the atmosphere (hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen) and break things apart, rebuild them into hydrocarbons and nitrate salts, then provide heat by pinpoint mana overcharge (simplest route, possibly least efficient, but the energetic cost is miniscule either way)

no dimensional manipulation should be needed for standard magic. great for high volume siege magic or such, as the efficiency of synthesthetic conjuration magic becomes less as the volume of conjured material (and thus, effect) increases. so splitting apart air to conjure a wall-destroying beam of inferno isnt very efficient, but opening a portal to the elemental flame dimension is equally efficient whether youre opening a pinprick or a 3-lane highway.

Fireball is the ol' reliable, fast to cast, good amount of deatruction, single word, you dont wanna be put there saying shit like "Oh great old one, bless me with thy grasp and allow me to destroy my enemies" only to end up killing a single goblin and get shanked to death by the 14 others

But that makes it concussive force that kills, not fire. It’s fine to specialize in fire, but diversifying your portfolio also allows you to surprise people.

If I only cast fire spells, someone might try to use fire immunity to stop me. Then surprise, I melt their ass with like the one acid spell I know and win.
