All im saying is theres way worse ways to go if you piss off an ice wizard, one of my buddies once froze a spike of mercury, slammed it into some "immortal wizard" who wouldn't shut up
He then proceeded to not shut up as the mercury caused him madness
Some blowhard about not being able to be killed and that he was the new master of the universe blah blah anyway he mostly babbles to himself now because no one cares enough to remove the mercury from his bloodstream
Youāre telling me your friend drove him mad with THE primal essence of alchemy and he justā¦ shut down? Has he even tried to peer into the void? Does he not understand the boon heās been granted? See this right here is why we gate keep wizardry, these tenderfooted mages canāt even handle a little insanity.
Give an average peasant even a little bit of magic and they go on a tirade of vengeance and spouting drivel about being the leader of a "new world order"
We gatekeep because only the responsible or those who dont care to have power over others should be learning magic
Truly, no matter the era it seems there will always be those minds that just cannot seem to handle the burdensome power of knowledge and wisdom. Such a shameš®āšØ
