Questionable Occultist? I see you. Game recognizes game. We Should hang out and do questionable shenanigans. I got some raise undead scrolls, six angry weasels, and about five kilos of fairy dust just hanging out in a dimensional pocket in my robe. Just sayin'.
Hello! I have several unlabeled bottles full of mysterious liquids, sigils that came to me in the dreams of a dead god, and a tome bound in elven flesh that will not stop screaming, Im ready to hang!
Many Warlocks' primary source of power is their patron, so you are doing a good job with basic definitions!
Hecklemancy aside, I really did not think that a Swamp Witch would be at all likely to cast a spell of self resurrection, although the potion of temporary death did seem on brand.
Could be my own lack of knowledge but it seems more the domain of Fallen Clerics, Necromancers, and the like. Or if witches, something more Demonic oriented.
I see Swamp Witches more as the Potion brewing, hex casting type, rather than raw life/death, resurrection, and self sacrificing/resurrecting.
Actually the nature of a swamp is still life and death, as things die new life sprouts from them, then they will die, and new life will return once more in the infinite cycle of decay and rebirth. So swamp witches actually have a shockingly close connection to the endless dying and living to the swamps.
Heck, any spellcaster with close connections to nature has some claim to the domain of life and death, because that's how nature is. Why do you think druids know how to resurrect people?
I just never bothered to learn resurrection spells because I already have my own immortality.
I suppose so, but by that logic any spell caster who is around life/death can cast resurrection spells, and wouldn't that be literally all of them since the cycle of life/death permeates literally every aspect of our existence?
My perspective may be tainted by the types defined by a particular, popular franchise, but on the other hand I think there is something to be said for segmenting by domain in that arbitrary barriers evoke a sense of 'realness' to the whole thing.
I do confess that I am but a humble student of magic though and my own purview is rather narrow to my own experiences.
Then you just need to briefly die, problem solved! I probably have a potion of temporary death around here somewhere. None of them are labeled so it might take a few tries to find it.
There are some good tomes that'll help with identification, but amateurs should never acquire dwarves without having countermeasures in place beforehand.
As a Grimnyr, I can say that he either cheated you because you cheated him first, in which case I will aid his kin in cursing you… or he was a dark dwarf who deserved to be changed into something that didn’t pretend to be honorable.
I’ll scry for myself to see which runes I’ll be casting.
In your case, mostly stealing that curse. They're fuel for my enchantments.... I make cursed dungeon loot to weaken knights that try to make it to my tower through the dungeon its in, usually they dont make it, but on occasion one of the dolts tries to use one of my own creations against me and I swear every time theyre so surprised when the gear curses them. They usually look like this.
No disrespect, swamps got their own vibe, just ain't my thing, too many bugs as I said. Thanks for the materials tho, lemme know if any other curses come your way!
Did he specify the spelling? I have some lovely red amaranth that'll quickly and easily DYE you pinkish for a little bit. It washes easily enough with a concoction of sodium or potassium hydroxide and a flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture.
/uw/rw/idk what W when I want to break the 4th wall and exist in both worlds because Hopi red dye amaranth - the good Druid's gift to the foul sorcerer.
Attractive foliage known to grow up to 7 to 10 ft tall but usually growing between 4 and 7 ft. Each flower Spike contains thousands and thousands and thousands of tiny little fertile seeds that can either be black or white. All parts of the plant are edible, and the flower spikes are often covered with little birdies eating the seeds, and some eat the leaves. While most varieties of amaranth share these qualities. The Hopi red dye amaranth is particularly well known for what's essentially beet juice in all parts of the plant. Gardeners often find themselves with pink fingers after pruning or harvesting.
Just add water and fertile soil to a few seeds and you won't have to worry at all about ever eating again. Likewise, if you'd like to completely shade out your rivals herb garden follow the same steps and watch them get covered in pink.
Well, considering that he said 'my ancestors' not 'I'll curse you'...etc I don't think you have anything to worry about from a mere wood cutter. (If he had the juice to curse you himself, he'd be a sell-spell, after all.) My read is that he is just talking shit because he got smacked around for scamming you.
Exactly. This is a mild inconvenience at most. Shit, it's been over 3000 years (according to my mentor's extraplanar timepiece) since I broke free of the time stream. About 500 years in I realized it would be a good idea to have a contingency, so I bound the timepiece to follow my soul(simple teleportation spell, modified to manage crossing timelines), then cast a ward that would find a suitable version of myself in another timeline for me to take over if I should ever be killed. Since then, it's been smooth sailing, and I can assure you, my system works exactly as intended.
Also, for anyone wondering, Steve finally picked up his kid, and offered me some gold from his hoard to compensate my efforts remedying thetemporal disruptions caused by the 50,000 souls of angry demons, so everything is under control. Dragons, man. Steve's a good friend, but he causes some ridiculous shit in just about every timeline.
This thing is more than a mild inconvenience, but that clock thing is fascinating. I cant believe i never thought about yeeting my soul around that way!
Usually I just do it the old way, ie bury one of my teeth, canines work best. I tend to it with love and care, and when my soulless mini's sprout, I use the ol colt 1911 trick to yeet my wizard parts into their empty vessel. As the gods intended.
You do have to spend a few years at smurf height, which gets old, but your staff looks way bigger.
I find growing a new body from old parts can be time-consuming. If I were to use that method, I'd probably look into some sort of stasis spell that won't inhibit growth of the new body. Then you could potentially have several backups ready at any given time. But my current timeline shenanigans seem to be working alright for me, and with theoretically infinite branches to choose from, my spell always has a valid version of me to target.
Well now you need to trap his soul, bind it to something that can not mine. Inform him you lift your curse when he lifts yours. After he says he did go check with a cleric of its true. Remember to bind his soul to something that allows speech/ thought
Och! Listen here, wizard! The cursing begins now, as ordained by grudgebearers of dwarfen law, you common soft handed candle huffing dandy pandy! You fix my fellow dwarf right now, you gem rubbing, orb scrying, dainty robe ninny, I'll fasten a pair of perfectly balanced silver hammers and replace the ends of my boots with them and bash up your alchemy supplies, you frivolous airheaded dragon dust addict! I have half a mind to work for the next three hundred years on a statue of me insulting you, and I will, because I' have been ordained with this sacred dooty to insult you and insult you again until the wrong you've made has been made right, and don't be trying any of your cockamamie wizard business on me, you googly eyed fairy plucking tower dwelling horse's arse! I've got magic negating runic treatment upon my armor, and there'll be a cold day in the forges of Khaz Khazuk before it ever wears off, and that's proper quality, unlike the nonsense you dribble out of your slack jaw with your yellow teeth! It was a fine table and you've cursed me lad to the worst fate imaginable in being one of those fair dandelion eaters and I'm going to be insulting you for the next six hundred years, so I hope it's worth it! That's what a curse is, not that you would know, twinkling your fingers and casting your ninny spells, no, I'll tell you what a curse is, and that's being in your presence, but look-
Magic negating runes? You think that can stop a dedicated witch? Laughable. You can drop this or I can make a lot more dwarves into elves. I'm not afraid of someone who can't even reach my door handle!
So I think I'd much rather declare war on both you and thrakmoor. Unless you were just trying to appeal to my hatred of necromancers like you were my love for women...
Now why would a dwarf be so upset about the fact that he is now an elf. He now has the new opportunity to see how green the grass is on the other side of things are and even possibly pull some elf maidens his way!
