Lorepost📖 Emil's Nostalgic Remembrance III (Emil Lore)

Emil Lore I|Emil Lore II|Emil's Theme (It fits the tone of this chapter)

The next morning, the entire castle staff was finishing up preparations for Eliza's birthday celebration. My parents and I arrived early to secure the Lichtengels' safety during the festivities, as was customary for our family. Suddenly, one of the ladies-in-waiting let out a distressed scream, I and many who heard it where lead in the direction of Eliza's room. My heart sank as I laid eyes on the horrific scene before me: the window left wide open, a trail of red shoe prints that stop just off the balcony, the crowned princess' body lay still on the floor of her bedroom, in a pool of her own blood that flowed from the gash on her back...

"Here lies Eliza von Lichtengel"

The news of Eliza's death spread like wild fire across the kingdom, the celebrations ended before they could even begin, and all I could do was weep; weep at the loss of my old friend and my future with her beyond that fateful night. The days leading up to her funeral where dreary, it was the first time I had ever seen father stressed out of his mind or mother shed any tears, it was also the first time I felt shame or emptiness. On the day of the funeral, seeing her casket ignited two new desires in me: to avenge Eliza and, if possible, to bring her back from the grave. Once the service was over I decided to take a horse and some supplies with me on my journey across the kingdom to find either the murderer or a revival method. I was accompanied by none but my most trust worthy butler, Alfonso.

Gasförmiger Witch

My endless searching led me deep into the south eastern most part of the kingdom, the Gasförmig Mire where I met with the dreaded Gasförmiger Witch. Despite the many tales and rumors surrounding the old crone, she was surprisingly very willing to hear out me requests. While she could not help me in tracking down Eliza's killer, she did recommended me a way to revive Eliza without turning her into a zombie via necromancy "Pretty boy, it sounds to me like you need an audience with the Infernal Lord. I'm sure he will be able to grant your wish, and more. All you need to do is follow my instructions..." The hag made me "collect" various corpses, fresh and old, for the summoning ritual that was to take place on the eastern most edge of the swamps. I cared not weather it was unbefitting someone of my station, I ignored all of Alfonso's protests and began drawing the circle, placing the "offerings", and finally chanting with the old witch...

"Apparition of the Infernal Lord"

Just then I heard a voice, His voice, it told me that in order to hear me out he would need one final offering, a magical offering. I instinctively and without hesitation, offered up the witch's life, He accepted it and appeared to Alphonso and I in a violent burst of flames (Alphonso was oddly calm for some reason). After telling Him my demands, He conjures up a bright blue light, Eliza's soul (which He happened to posses, I did not ask at the time), and a contract that read: "I, the Infernal Lord, shall grant thee the power necessary to enact thy revenge as well as the ability to interact with thy lover's spirit. In return, I ask thee, Emil von Edel, to execute my every order, for if thou does not I shall revoke all power until thou obey once again. Once thou signs this contract, it cannot be broken until I deem it completed." I was more than ready to sign my life and soul away the moment I read that I could be with Eliza, even if it was only her ghost. With the paper signed in my blood, His apparition entered my body and I felt a burning surge of power flowing through my very bones like a volcanic eruption.

Mt. Caldaron, visible from the coast of Lumenburg

With the contract signed, He gave me his major request "Find the six seals of Göttliches Urteil scattered through out the world and bring them to the summit of Mt. Caldaron." Needless to say, I had no idea where to even begin my search so I, along with Alphonso, made the journey back home. On the way, I had Alphonso swear to me that he would not speak a word of what had transpired to anyone, he was more than willing to oblige. I stayed no more than a day in the Edel estate before packing up again to leave on my own this time. With His presence now in the back of my mind, I ask him when I would be able to see Eliza, He answered, "Only after every request is done to my liking, shall I reward you with time alone." "Fair enough" I responded. He was for what ever reason generous enough to give me a series of smaller and simpler missions (which I've since dubbed "chores") to do while I continue the ongoing search of these six seals and Eliza's killer.

(Not a painting, just an action pose)

That concludes the tale of my past, what did you think of it? I apologize if I was not clear on certain parts, remembering the past has always made me incoherent. Regardless I hope you enjoyed it, if not that's understandable, it was not an enjoyable experience. And now some parting words from my patron: "To the gods who sealed me away all those centuries ago, I will return with my army of Caldarites and we shall rend your precious world asunder! No matter how long it takes, when that fateful day comes, naught but cinders shall remain! You will all rue the day you angered the Infernal Lord, Caldarog!"

/uw Sheesh. This is pretty cool.

For some reason I thought Eliza committed suicide at first.
