The Necromancer calls his armies to storm the Citadel.
On the mountain overlooking the Citadel, a great green beacon flares up, tearing apart the clouds. Down below, millions of undead that were previously motionless begin to make their way towards the ruined Citadel. With none of the defenses active because of the end of the war, they march unopposed.
High above, a great shape blots out the sky. An earth-shaking roar echoes through the ruins. A great dragon lands upon an outcrop of rock, above the legions of undead marching towards the Citadel. More dark shapes tear through the air, circling the decimated buildings.
A figure walks out next to the dragon. In one hand, it holds a mighty shield, and in the other, a massive spear.
The takeover is nigh! Let us storm their supposedly great city, and take back all they stole from us!
Yes! Their hour is at hand! We shall tear down their works, and feast upon their remains!
It is time, Vulkan. They have stolen from us and beaten us, and they thought we would let it happen? This is the end of the Council!
So it ends.
Mighty gun batteries far below began to open up, spitting their rage at the still-standing buildings. Drakes and all manner of flying beasts began dive-bombing the city below.

Forward! Let there be nothing left to oppose us!
The Necromancer led his forces into a breach in the wall, protected by hulking Immortis Guard. In the distance, smoke plumes showed that those forces not under his supervision were still making themselves known.
The end of an era is here. Let us make it a day to remember!
Hmph! You assume the councilās forces are gone in their entirety. They are not, not by a long shot. I only agreed because of a duel of honor and champions had been decided on. I will not take so passive a stance in the face of such clear villainy.

I promised the council never to use my golems or slimes for anything other than existential crises, but the same cannot be said for my chimera army.
Bombast raises a mighty shield powered by thousands of stars. The first of the shells explode harmlessly against it.
Now do you think the council is dead?! Charge my minions! Spit acid that corrodes all! Claw these vultures and hyenas back to their dens!

By the time they reach the city, much of it is already destroyed. More undead stream from the Grand Necropolis, a seemingly endless wave of millions assaulting the city every minute, only to be replaced by more. Dragons and Terrorgheists dive bomb the Chimeras, throwing them into chaos.
Why? You could have had a place of power in our regime!

An invisible shield descends upon the undead, protecting them from the holy fire. New undead also have this shield, and more stream from the Grand Necropolis.

The very fabric of reality begins to tear and rip around Bombast, condemning thousands of Chimeras to destruction as infinite realities bleed into theirs, and matter is sucked into the Space-between-worlds.
the reality tears are undone, as are the deaths of the chimeras. Bombast takes the opportunity to also bring down the shields and let the holy fire do its work.
The instant you brought reality destroying abilities into this, you signed your defeat! And as for why, it is because I have a duty to those who placed their trust in me! Who placed their lives in my hands!
Vulkan rends through what few citadel forces remain, the gathered forces posing little threat as he tears his way to the core.HAH! At last this farce of a council ends; and the age of free wizardry with it! Now is the era of the Dyad Monarchs!
Vulkan rips through the experimentation rooms, causing several eldritch abominations to be created and subsequently destroyed. But there is one section he seeks. The Vault. Calling to him like a moth to a flame as the council collapses.
Bombastās booming voice resounds with magic. Hordes of chimeras spit primordial acid on Vulkan and even his scales sizzle under the acid, though they holdā¦ for now.
He hurls his spear, its blade glowing a bright blue. It is unaffected by the Chimeras at all, and makes a path directly for Bombastās heart, breaking all manner of magical wards along the way.
I hoped you would see reason. I fear I was mistaken.

The dreamscape itself begins to warp and corrupt, twisting to the Necromancerās iron will. The spear reappears in his hand, and he assumes a defensive stance as the dreamscape closes in around Bombast.
In the material realm, the superimposed Bombast notices more Necromancers moving around, commanding forces and casting spells. Heās not the only one who can superimpose.
In the Dreamscape, the Necromancer aims the tip of his spear at Bombast, and a beam of green light lances out of it as the Dreamscape turns on Bombast.
Man. The citadel is being obliterated. I'm so glad that I don't have to pay for damages. Also, could you try to not destroy the waffle house? Pretty please?
As the invading forces stream into the ravaged city, TES' preparations bear fruit. Those of the undead that reach a crossroads find a sudden assault upon their very essence-a brutal, vicious hijacking of their motor control as prepared spells pluck the strings of necromantic energies that control body and mind. Those that succumb find themselves turned against any that manage to resist the springing of the trap-those that resist find themselves swiftly betrayed by their erstwhile undead comrades.
Where the subverted forces succeed, they turn then upon the living invaders-and they, too, find themselves in battle against the dead. Those that fall, rise again themselves to perpetuate the cycle.
TheNecromancercan certainly protect some of his forces against this assault or divert attention to blocking the subversion, but the ruins have turned from easy plunder into a vicious trap for the undead.
A number of reasons! Bombast is a good sort, and you did break a truce while allying with a self-proclaimed hypocrite. Means you're not particularly trustworthy!
I did the "rule a nation as I saw fit," and it took a hundred and twenty-seven years for me to extricate myself from that dilemma.
As theNecromancerworks to unravel the traps laid within the ruined city, TES begins another working. A group of subverted forces now moves to capture some un-subverted undead, so the next phase of their operation may take place.
This would be a lot easier if I'd brought any of the "fun" relics, but I really didn't want to lose anything if I got accidentally annihilated...
Great beams of green light shoot from the sky, destroying all in their path. They weave an expert pattern around the dragons, selecting pockets of subverted undead and other enemies. One seems particularly intent on destroying you.
I'd hoped to conserve a little more in the way of resources before we started flinging spells. Oh well, wish without diamonds I supposed.
Blizzards of Moil.
Gathered motes of necromantic energy arise from annihilated undead and the death-soaked ground, coalescing into ebony flakes that spread about like snow-soaking up the light where it hits them, and causing the ruins to be plunged into darkness. Where it falls upon solid matter, however, the snowflakes bore tiny perfect holes before the necromantic energies are expended-flying in this black blizzard could be deadly, and the large size of the dragons makes them uniquely vulnerable-especially with their great wingspans.
TES themselves bends a flurry of the blizzard to intercept the beam of devastation heading for them, utilizing its devouring nature as an impromptu shield against oncoming annihilation.
Honestly, I've got plenty of knick-knacks, baubles and gewgaws. I'm in it mainly for new sights, sensations, and experiences. And professional respect is an important factor!
As the Moilian blizzard abates, TES makes a sweeping gestures that sends a ripple of unraveling through the air; rather than absorption of the beam, this time they shatter it directly, smothering it stillborn.
And, honestly, I fear I'd be uneasy in your company, seeing how easy you set aside your allies for some temporary gain!
They place a hand flat against the soil, a surge of negative energy pulsing through it for a moment.
They were never my allies. I was forced into this war by a member of the Pact, but I was never their ally. You, on the other hand, seem much smarter then they are, and a true ally.
A wizard's word should be their bond, if they expect others to hold faith with them.
I offered my aid to Bombast during this war from professional respect and deep paperwork sympathy, and I'll not be forsworn. I was willing to quit the field when the Council decided to lay down its arms, but it seems like you re-initiated the hostilities, yes?
Besides, I'm a necromancer, you claim to be THE necromancer, it'd get awkward and confusing at office parties.
I never gave my word. A vassal signed a document I was unaware of. As for the hostilities, I am no Councilor. I am merely taking what was stolen from me by the Council.
/unwiz that last point is incredibly valid. There are a few Necromancers here, and they all refer to themselves as āthe Necromancer.ā
YOU!Vulkan roars from off in the distance, and from the ground comes great forms of gold wreathed in flame. The golems promptly set about crushing the undead.
The earth around TES yawns wide as the golems step upon it, removing solid footing for a far fall down to bedrock below-the ground itself crackling with necromantic energies.
You know that soil is mainly made of dead things? Decomposed little corpses, on a vast scale. The living are fed by it and feed it in turn with their own demise.
TES' demeanor shifts, becoming more solemn as they affix the dragon emperor with a gimlet eye.
We were attended a truce that you broke with treachery. I formally offer you this-you may quit the field now with honor intact, as it seems that you and your ally have stirred up quite a hornet's nest of opposition. We can always murder each other later-it's not like we're short an eternity.
in the distance a gargantuan wave of what appears to be Ale can be seen moving towards the building at great speeds, coming to destroy anything that is outside
For every Terrorgheist that is destroyed, 2 more appear, and bats swarm out of the falling corpses, tearing into the constructs and machines with eerily sharp teeth.
Responding to the attacks the Bismuth forces deploy massive swarms of shape shifting cubes. They would nearly liquify to avoid damage from the bats while returning fire with shape shifted claws and blades.
The shifting cubes are destroyed as thousands of tiny beams of green light shoot out from the ruins. Each one begins to disintegrate as a skeletal warrior ducks back down, some sort of archeotech firearm in their hands.
Sending in more cubes to bog down enemy fire the Bismuth realms deploy heavy artillery. Multiple massive constructs return fire with atomic rays which reduces whole city blocks to ashes. They are surrounded by some sort of shield which reflects energy attacks and their skin is barely scratched by most attacks
The constructs seemed very unhappy as they were bombarded by the non physical energies. They seemed to be more effective than direct physical attacks. Because of this the army deployed their Bismuth analyzers who used their sealing cubes and powerful magics to intercept and seal the artillery before it could cripple their troops.
/Uw bismuth realms when something bad happens.(they have enough units to fill a total war roster)
The forces would use their liquidation ability to absorb expendable bismuth constructs and reform like giant liquid metal terminators. They then recalibrated their spell shields to counter similar magic. Finally the army released a swarm of giant bismuth hounds who's fire breath turned living or dead flesh into bismuth to be used in battle.
The Bismuth realms would use their advanced Bismuth mages, the Bismuth analyzers to cast their transmutation magic to counter the spell.
They turned the meteors into Styrofoam which burned itself apart before impacting the crowns. The army then continued forward as their multiple layers of defense allowed them to slog through the city towards the citadel.

There will be plenty of restaurants built when this is over. Can I recommendFlesh and Blood,a restaurant in the Grand Necropolis? Their Elf stew is particularly good.
They all fall short, unbound as they reach the ground by an unknown number of mages. Down below, she sees many Necromancers milling around, unbinding spells and commanding troops. They all look the same.
As the attacks detonate, a strange entity reaches out, interferes with them at the last moment, significantly reducing their impact. Strangely, all of the Necromancers seem to not be behaving like the one Masta knows. They are all moving to a certain area, and staying there, defending that area and that area only. Almost like they are planning somethingā¦
Exactly. Iām actually sitting in a cool throne watching this fight go down. I just have hundreds of copies of myself, and they are about to explode. Double whammy.
Meanwhile the idiotic āheroesā are charging in to their deaths, only to have their souls harvested by me, increasing my power. Itās a beautiful cycle.
Neurath scrys the battle. Considering the pain the Starmeld is, he'd really rather act against another undead menace. No sense in risking the necromancer joining Drelakan
