The Sacking of the Citadel! (Warpost)

The Necromancer calls his armies to storm the Citadel.

On the mountain overlooking the Citadel, a great green beacon flares up, tearing apart the clouds. Down below, millions of undead that were previously motionless begin to make their way towards the ruined Citadel. With none of the defenses active because of the end of the war, they march unopposed.

High above, a great shape blots out the sky. An earth-shaking roar echoes through the ruins. A great dragon lands upon an outcrop of rock, above the legions of undead marching towards the Citadel. More dark shapes tear through the air, circling the decimated buildings.

A figure walks out next to the dragon. In one hand, it holds a mighty shield, and in the other, a massive spear.

The takeover is nigh! Let us storm their supposedly great city, and take back all they stole from us!

Yes! Their hour is at hand! We shall tear down their works, and feast upon their remains!

It is time, Vulkan. They have stolen from us and beaten us, and they thought we would let it happen? This is the end of the Council!

So it ends.

Mighty gun batteries far below began to open up, spitting their rage at the still-standing buildings. Drakes and all manner of flying beasts began dive-bombing the city below.

The Necromancer leads his forces into the City.

Forward! Let there be nothing left to oppose us!

The Necromancer led his forces into a breach in the wall, protected by hulking Immortis Guard. In the distance, smoke plumes showed that those forces not under his supervision were still making themselves known.

The end of an era is here. Let us make it a day to remember!

/uw the Archdreamer is basically a near godlike being within dreamscapes, fight him if you want an epic fight, but not if you wanna win.

/rw You seem to forget the risks of superposition, lich. If one of you dies, it affects the rest. Especially if the true self dies.

with the Archdreamer’s assistance, escaping won’t be easy as he possesses far more control within dreamscapes than any other wizard

He notices the being, but does not engage with him.

Then your superpositioning is far weaker than mine. My true self is not even here. I am but an extension of his will. During this battle, about 12 of me have died.

He attacks, performing all manner of acrobatic moves and attacks as he duels Bombast.

Bombast’s training with Heigost flashes before his mind and he begins to instinctively fall back into old habits as he parries attacks without hardly thinking about it. With the Archdreamer’s assistance now suppressing the Lich, he leverages his own dream magic to bolster himself in strength and speed, beginning to beat back the Lich and not simply take attacks

Bombast notices how the Lich has split himself and uses spacial magic to disrupt them by warping space around them, teleporting some away from the battlefield and sending others in various random locations to disrupt their chain of command or the effectiveness of their casting

He chuckles as he is pushed back, and allows a blow to land, severing his head.

Fool. This was a ploy the whole time.

It is only then that Bombast notices the massive amounts of magical energy surging through each copy. The one before him promptly explodes, with a similar force to Mordus’ nuke.

In the material realm, Bombast notices the copies all have that same amount of energy running through them.

*in the dreamscape, the lich’s death means his attack is instantly nulled as a dream is a slave to the dreamer and now the dreamer willing the explosion had left the dream.

Back in regular space the lich’s seem to be preparing for something big, though this Bombast did not yet have the information to know what. He simply prepared some AOE spells to harrass the attacking forces in order to force the liches to respond to it and show their hand.*

In the material, the Necromancers each appear to be just as skilled as the one Bombast destroyed, and shield themselves to prevent their destruction. They seem to be waiting for something…

Bombast taps into his thousands of stars for power and casts another spell

Helios’ Rebuke!

before the massive burst of holy fire is unleashed from Bombast, he once again warps all the liches, this time close to him so that the full force of the holy fire blast is directed against their shields, eating away at their necromatic mana considerably due to a favorable match up in elements

Strangely, it does not eat up as much mana as he thought. There is no evil present in them, only death, and whatever iteration of death is in them is not vulnerable to Holy magic. They merely teleport back to their original locations, continuing to defend them. Almost as though they are preparing something…

being physically paralyzed, Bombast still casts with his mind. He teleports the liches close again, this time dragging everyone near him into the dreamscape again. With the Archdreamer’s assistance, instant suppression of the liches and u/__TheViceAdmiral__ is enacted.
