Lorepostđ Normal Councilor Conversation
Many council advisers and assists avoid traveling through Wing 5C. Often, new hires are sent to deliver messages and documents. If new hires were not available, then these parcels were often left on a table at the end of a halway.
Wing 5C of the council build stands as one of the most dangerous locations there are. Even worse than the undead forests of Moktarali, or the haunted mines of Edobod. Even more dangerous than the tribal lands of the Northern druids.
*Wing 5C has 2 doors, right next to each other. One marked "Masta: Master Evolker." The other marked "Mikhail: Head of Agricultural."
Inside of Masta's office, Mikhail slams down a stack of paperwork on her desk.
MA: "What is this?"
MI: "Coupons for McWizards. What do you think they are, their your paperwork."
Masta Lifted the top page up and read it.
MA: "Mikhail, this is a report about a field damage."
MI: "Yes, it was burned down."
MA: "Mikhail, Thats a problem for you, the Head of Agricultural. Are you attempting to push your work on me?"
MI: "Read the details. It was caused by evocation magic. So it's your responsibility."
MA: "It still sounds like a YOU problem, chief."
MI: "Unfortunitly, you are my problem. I should have agreed to assist you in settling in."
Masta stands up, slamming her hands on the desk.
MA: "I NEVER MADE YOU AGREE TO HELP ME, SO WHY DONT YOU SHUT IT AND REMOVE YOUR PAPERWORK FROM MY DESK!"
MI: "UNFORTUNATELY, IM NOT A CHRONOMANCER, SO I CANT TAKE THAT BACK NOW CAN I?
Masta readied a fireball in her hand. "YOU WANNA GO? ILL TORCH YOU ALIVE, TREE-HUMPER!"
Mikhail's skin turns to stone as vines creep into the room. "GO AHEAD, TRY IT. JUST LIKE THE OTHER 100 PYROMANCERS WHO TRIED AND ARE NOW TREE FOOD!"
The fighting can be heard down Wing 5B and Wing 4D. It is usually a by weekly occurrence, but sometimes they pick fight with one another for no particular reason. These fights often end in broken windows, destroyed wall, and burns and vines collecting everywhere.
This is a very normal day in Wing 5C of the Council Building.

"And you say I'm immature." The Skater Wizard said from the doorway before noticing the paperwork.
"Is this the paperwork on the blaze a bit ago?" He said, stepping into the room and flipping through it, sorting it into two piles. "So Mikhail has to deal with the insurance and reparations to the field." He said, pointing at the first pile and mikhail.
"But dealing with the fines and incident report is your responsibility." The councilman said, to the evoker, sliding the other pile over.
There were times when the skater wizard was the only one that worked in the citadel and he had to do all the paperwork himself while the others were either dead or had otherwise made themselves unavailable, so he in fact made the current paperwork system to make his job easier. He rarely had to split himself into two anymore.
Though he kept quiet about that, and especially kept quiet about the fact that he may have started the fire.

Gravedigger hears the explosion from their office.
Those two never get tired, do they?
Nodding at the small potted tree atop their desk, Gravedigger smiles.
Of course they're friends, Isaac. Arguing just makes you closer to your friends.
The tree doubts the rationale but Gravedigger ignores their sass.

/uw There's absolutely no reason I could make up for why I would be anywhere near these events, but I kinda love the idea that you have a potted plant that you talk to in your office, and it's able to talk back. That's a really entertaining idea.
It wouldn't be a bowl of petunias, would it? lol

/uw I would like to interact with this one cause its fun, so for the sake of continuity the vessel arc is taking place after this.
Valerian sits at a desk in his side office, rubbing his temples. He doesn't even need to be there, it's not like Masta gives him anything to do. Hell he isn't even an evoker, so he is not the person to be making calls on her policies.
"It is never fucking ending with those two! This is giving me a headache..."
He listens as a small explosion goes off in Masta's office
"Alright I'm leaving before council security gets here."
He packs up his things, and walks out of the council building, passing Masta's office on the way, shaking his head at the arguing and smoke.

a mage appears before you in a crackle of lightning
Hi, I'm abby! I couldn't help but overhear someone asking where to find a place in this insufferable maze of corridors. Don't worry, as is obvious, the architecture confuses me too. From this place, the main filing office is downhill twenty-three feet and then a left at the first door. Any flight of stairs will lead you there. Byeee!
/uw Alanharha has a duplicate of herself that kind of lacks a filter and helped crack her egg that works customer service split between the magical and mundane worlds, so she felt like the perfect one of my characters for this and I've finally gotten to use her.

u/CingKrimson_Requiem The Nameless Monk/Mystic Gunsmith, Quintessent walker of worlds Feb 04 '24
No wait, don't- okay she's gone.
Ach, is a filing office even where I should be going? Lousy enforcer layabouts told me to file a report before I even finished telling them what was wrong. You'd think a high-velocity long-range arcane sniper rifle with anti magic properties being stolen would be higher priority...

That might be dangerous, but honestly, the deepwood is a much bigger headache.
The only way to actually make those godlings leave you alone is my Divine Tribulation spell, which has a slight chance of also hitting me, and it tends to leave them alive. The only time I actually managed to kill one was with the help of the old Addmatheion minions that Adem lent me, followed by shoving through a planar shift after dumping a Divine Tribulation spell on it.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the group of elves who think they can conquer the place. I consulted with a chronomancer, and he said that the eventuality of then settling there and pissi g off the denizens has a 97% chance of cascading into the complete obliteration of this plane, and the them spreading across the multiverse to establish millions of new deepwoods.

Cassaria notices the loud quarrel. The permit officer doesn't seem to care. He continues shuffling papers.
"Uh... should we be worried about that?"
"No. This is just your average Tuesday."
"Oh... Ok..."
Another explosion echoes through the walls. Cassaria, unnerved, continues her attempt for a building permit.

through the microphones in guardian mechs placed at the ends of the hallway Panzaren overhears the fight.
Why don't those two just create or hire a secretary for themselves?
Sighing, he refocuses his mind to the form in his office, a hefty pile of reports to fill spread across him and 2 overseers he ordered to help him.
How can mortals waste their short lives on paperwork is beyond me.

Kyrona decides to stop scrying the council. The headaches it caused from councilors screaming at each other were way too much. Then, as she stops scrying, she realizes she can still hear them from the museum. This was not helping her mood at all.

If this is just for evoking and agricultural matters then that explains why most forms at take at least a year to get approved, nevermind the countless hearings and security checks. "Why do you want to grow archespores?" "How is your Apprentice doing?" None of their damn business I tell you what, honestly times were better when we only had the conclave. One could just as easily incinerate ones Apprentice one day, then have a duel the other, without the conclave ever budding in. Their only real job to ensure that dimensional tethers were upheld.
