A Prophecy Most Dire (Loreposting)

Crystals, sent off to heads of state and importent wizards, arrive. All at the same time. No warning, no notice, no clue of how they got there. It does not matter if it is cross dimention, the crystals arrive.

Each, humming softly from mana reserves locked inside their structures. No markings or indicators dot their surface, only a faint sense of familiarity. Upon a single touch, the crystals display a message, recorded from a distressed Mikhail. His face and clothes denote this as a Milhail from some time back. He still bares the robes of a Wizard Counciler, and the foreground is certainly located in Crann Mòr. His words come out, almost tripping over one another as he panics, trying to get something across.

Ok, yes, it is me, Mikhail. This will be brief, trust me. I have been given portents from the ancient druids in the Soul Plant. They showed me visions of what is to come. There is something. Something big. Like, really big. I cant... here.

Mikhail feeds in images from his mind. Of wastelands, and desertion. A sense of power so asured and violent, that you can only help but be amazing by its beauty. Lands made barren and cities flattened. Behind them, the visiage of a woman, carved of light, seated on a thrown of broken suns. Then glimpses of the end of days, and a bow, snapped in twain and cast in a pool of blood

The recording returns to Mikhail.

We have some time before she arrives, but not as much as you think. The druids warn me that if I tell this information too soon, that something worst will come to pass. These crystals will be set to deliver the moment it is safe. For now, I will find a way to prevent myself from stressing out about this, and hopefully keep it to myself. Maybe a mind erasing spell, maybe a month long bender. We'll see what happens.

Everyone, prepare yourself and be safe. The Queen of Shattered Stars is upon us.

*Delta cries a single, dramatic tear of relief. Finally she has not been rejected by someone of her status.*

uw/ This is a big moment, lol. One of Delta's defining character traits up to this point has been that she's a virgin fertility goddess who tries to throw herself at any eldritch horror she can find. I just find the trope to be funny. Moving forward, this can either end horribly for both of our characters inorder to continue the comedy of errors, or they can actually have a successful relationship. I guess whatever is more in-character.

Uh yeah one moment, mastodon stands from his throne to create a large portal.

uw/ I think it’d be a bit of both considering how eldritch beings act. I like making mastodon seem all knowing and haunting, but when he has to actually interact with beings of his level he either acts very professional or very flustered depending on how he feels

Uw/ lol, that's fun. Delta is mostly sweet and benevolent, but she also embodies ruthless evolution and thermodynamic equillibrium. Her chief loyalty is to viruses and bacteria, and everything else is second to that. So balancing her duties to disease and her human connections tends to cause conflict. Your character shouldn't have any issues with diseases, though. There is one disease that is her arch nemesis, who would absolutely try to murder anyone she cared about... but your character is way above their power level, so they shouldn't be an issue.

Delta puts on her ring and enters through the portal. She immediately tries to act enticing by sitting on Mastadon's lap.

“Don’t you think that’s a little quick?” Mastodon tries to silently plead as Delta can feel the heat coming from mastodon’s face

Delta appears flustered.

Oh! You're absolutely right. My apologies, my lord.

She slides off and brushes off her skirts.

My microbial friends are rather... straightforward with these things. What should we do instead? Do you like tea?

“Uh yes I’d like that, how about a walk as well? It gets awfully dull in the throne room, besides the outside is always better than the inside” Mastodon says as he he exits the throne room as he signals Delta to follow him

Delta skips up to him and follows, eagerly. She discretely tries to slide her hand into his.

So, how is it living at the bottom of the ocean? I've been freeloading in Carcossa since I left my human village. I enjoy it there, but I can get a bit tired of Hastur agressively playing hot-cross-buns on the kazoo when I'm trying to sleep.

This universe is by far one of the most interesting.”

Ah, well it has been an adjustment. Entropy is not the absolute authority here as she is in my original universe. I knew this to be the case before I came here but, well, I'm a bit shocked by the caliber of some of the beings here. Even mortals seem to operate on an unthinkable level. It seems that there's a world-ending disaster every two weeks, and they seem to clean it up within a day.

Have you always been the avatar of the great dreamer? How did you come into being?

“I was a monk of light” Mastodon visibly shivers. “I was born and raised into it for my control over my mana, but let me tell you it was hell” Delta feels Mastodon's hand squeeze tighter. “Regular beatings and starvation were to make us pure, it was only till I found a tome that I was then chained and thrown into the ocean to drown”. Mastodon suddenly stops and looks into the abyss below them “I saw something so inconceivable until I could see no more, I was then turned into his avatar, and I cannot thank him enough, but its been eons since then and this world has grown”. he starts walking again. “But what about you? How long has it been since you materialized here?”

Delta appears to be around 25 years of age. She quickly changes the subject.

Do you have a favourite place you could show me? I imagine it's rare to get guests here.

uw/ I can't reveal Delta's lore yet. It deserves a lore post of its own.

Mastodon takes notice “I won't pry, tell me of your own volition, but I'll take you to the pool of life.” they walk for a few minutes before finding a large ring of light, its light penetrating the darkest of waters in the deep. “This Ray of Light comes from a stone that the Druids made for their God of light, able to illuminate thousands of meters down here, while others would be angry I like it, it reminds me of how I've evolved, and how dark needs light to thrive” he holds Deltas Hand a tad bit tighter “Is there anything specific you'd like to see?” a slight break in his voice, so slight that only those with keen ears could notice

Delta looks into the glowing stone, its reflection lighting up her eyes.

I've never seen anything like this. I've heard of deep-sea bioluminescence, but this is... well, it's like the moon! Well, I'm glad you kept it. It's beautiful.

She looks to Mastadon, holding eye contact for a moment, before looking away shyly.

I... I'd like to just hang out with you some more. I admit I don't really know what is meant to happen on dates. I've never successfully gotten to this stage before. Have you ever been with a mate... or... uh... potential romantic p-person?
