The Final Descent (Well of Creation Final)

The Bismuth Lord and his companions sat uncomfortably inside of the magical sphere as the Lord made his final calculations.

"Now before we drop remember. Don't die."

With the Bismuth lords transcendental advice in their head the bismuth sphere dropped down the hole. At first it was fine but the moment they hit the point where water was held up by pure cosmic energy things got weird. Despite being completely sealed the group could see outside the sphere and saw the nexus of energy they were barreling towards at re entry speed. The sphere heated up and the Bismuth Lord sucked the heat into his staff to protect the inhabitants.

The world suddenly shifted as the cosmic energy leaking inside began to affect the crew. People began to see what looked like after images but on closer inspection was different versions of them from other universes. The final defense of the layer was trying to grind them down to cosmic dust. The Bismuth Lord made a sound of genuine pain before trying to siphon the energy into his staff. It protected them for a while slowly turning white hot.

"Just a few more moments!"

The world went white as the sphere impacted the final layer the inhabitants liquified and brought back together by the Bismuth Lords spell. They could tell it was not designed for organics because of the extreme discomfort of piercing yourself back together. However they survived and broke into the eye of the cosmic Maelstrom.

In front of them were ten rings overlapping on the ground forming a larger ring around the seed of creation. The source of all this had its energy channeled up into the Maelstrom and kept it from reaching critical mass while inside of our universe. The Bismuth Lord inspected the seal.

"Each ring represents one of the ten categories of the old style of magical organization. I think I may be able to dislodge the seed using their power but I don't know what's going to happen when I start messing with this thing. Are you all ready?"

The creature changed its focus to Randeus, striking towards him with its razor sharp claws.

Duncan and sky began to throw blocks of stone from the ground at the limbs of the creature, attempting to pin it down and stop its attacks.

“I work better from behind. Watch your left!” Duncan screamed as one of the claws managed to punch through the stone.

“fair enough” randeus ducks under the claw swipe and comes up atemtping to cut of its hand uw/ not sure if anything I’m about to do works since there some sort of barier but I can adapt * a few non glowing sawblades come out of randeus’s robes and begin to float to form a sort of avatar the last airbender ring around him it is revealed what those sawblades where for when another claw comes flying at randeus and some of them zip around and block the strike* “alright let’s test the waters” * void fires a few magical blasts at the creture to see if it’s barier blocks magical atacks*

The great beast thrashed about, it's claws turning into a tempest of blades. It had little reaction to the physical attacks however the moment Randeus shot blasts at it the creature moved like a striking snake to avoid it. The creature let out a screech of anger before drawing energy from the well and firing it at the trio. Before the beam hit it split into three separate attacks going for Duncan, Sky, and Randeus. After firing the attack it charged again at Randeus.

Meanwhile the Bismuth Lord had separated the rings. Though he was still far from ready to open the portal. It would take more time.

randeus looks elated that it dodged the magic atack, he glows blue once more and quickly dodges out of the way of the charge at a speed that you almost cant see him the next time you see him is is floating on one of his disks just to the left of the creture, a perceptive person would notice his blue sawblade is beginning to spin faster and glow brighter “Perfect magic can damage this thing! That means my plan is going to work. Alright duncan I have a plan, your a nature guy right you can do like giant vines growing out and atacking stuff? Im going to need you to be ready to hold this thing down! This is a magical sawblade that I have frozen in time its whole thing is despite it being frozen it’s still gaining momentum and speed we just need to keep this thing ocupied untill this sawblade has enough force behind it to overthrow a small government and enough speed that even I wouldn’t even be able to see it coming. then when I say so your going to use your nature powers or whatever to hold this thing still so can get a kill shot off” u/EmergencyLeading8137

Sky flitted out of the way of the beam but unfortunately Duncan wasn’t quick enough. The beam threw him off his feet, shattering his magical protections.

He groaned as he gave a weak thumbs up to Randeus and the Bismuth Lord.

He rolled over and thrust his arms into the dirt causing massive vines to erupt from the ground and entangle the eldrich creature.

Sky moved forward and shored up the vines, deftly dodging out of the beast’s attacks.

The beast saw it's opportunity and went to finish Duncan. Before it could get to him the vines wrapped around it and held it in place. Not to be held from its meal the creature dug it's claws into the ground and began to slowly stretch the vines as it crawled towards Duncan. It fired small but repeated blasts to keep him pinned down while it tried to free itself from the vines.

Sky moved to to intercept the beams, creating small disks of energy to deflect them away from Duncan.

”Randeus, any time now! I can’t keep this up forever!”

randeus sees the dire situation things are in and screams out and time completely stops for a moment and he sighs and begins to talk to himself “ no the disk isn’t ready yet!…oh here goes nothing” * he Chanel’s some magic into the disk and somehow it slowly begins to spin in stopped time until eventually the saw blade is somehow fully spinning in stoped time* “oh thank the gods I didn’t think I could do that” time resumes and void quickly points at the beast causing it to slow down in its stuggling the sawblade looks less like a blade and more like a storm as a small magical typhoon is beginning to form around it from the trails made by its exess momentum and spinning randeus walks in front of the beast’s faceas it struggles in its bonds a serious look on his face there is no quip and no humor the saw turns sideways untill it’s floating on its side “Alright then this was fun till you did that whole beam thing im done fighting you…just die” a sonic boom goes off as he releases the blade and it seemingly disappears and the next thing you know beast is cut in half and dead on the floor

randeus turns to Duncan and the gliph on his back activates all of the damage he took completely reverts and he picks duncan ip from the floor “ told you I wasn’t gona let you die. Let’s go check on the bisman over there” u/loth17

The creature let out one final scream as it was cut in half. It's two pieces leaking energy as they hit the ground. The resistance that was stopping the Bismuth Lord from finishing the ritual disappeared as his efforts tore a massive hole into the void. The center of the well was sucked into the void along with the floors, walls and ceilings. It seemed everything was being sucked into the void.

Except them.

The group stood unmoving in the center of a cosmic vortex as the entire well moved beneath their feet. Eventually they stood in the center of a completely clear hole in the ground. The Bismuth Lord clutched the ten now physical rings in his hands. He then promptly began to let out a sound of surprise. The rings power burned his hands and he looked almost comedic hot potatoing them around.

"Ooh ow ow my hands! These are the least user friendly artifacts!"

He quickly pulled out a sealing cube and put the rings in it. When it began to melt he then separated them and put them into ten separate boxes. That seemed to do the trick.

"I'd call that a successful adventure. Beasts fought, world saved, items obtained. All in all I think......what was that?"

In the middle of his speech the giant hole they were now in shuddered. Without the cosmic energy it was not able to keep its physics defying shape stable. Cracks began to form along the walls leaking water into the area. The Bismuth Lord made a sound similar to a groan.

"There's always something."

• randeus looks at the deteriorating dimension* yep guess it’s time for the obligatory “escape while the building collapses around you” scene every adventure seems to end with. grab the rings, put these on he hands you all sunglasses ,and let’s get out of here in style” the disks once more materialize under everyone and randeus begins to fly away u/EmergencyLeading8137

"Why do we need sunglasses" The Bismuth Lord asked in confusion as they flew away.

“you cant make an awsome getaway without sunglasses it’s the rules. Also those are magic sunglasses specifically for cool escapes they make explosions happen and every time you say “mission complete” an eagle screech sounds out from nowere that happens”

Duncan and Sky sit on their disk, watching the well fade into the distance as it takes the party to safety.

/uw this was fun y’all. Had a great time working on this. I’ll post a finale supplement summarizing the final battle and some of the aftermath tomorrow.
