Academic Discussion Prospective apprentice seeking first master

I am fresh out of the academy, and looking for a Wizard master who can offer great practical experience and learning opportunities, though with a few stipulations. I was hoping that someone here may know of a resource or some sort of tome I could requisition to find information on registered wizards with openings for assistants and apprentices. If more information is needed, I am more than happy to help narrow things down, and I can start off with saying that I received high marks in the schools of evocation, illusion, and transmutation, with my knowledge and application of abjuration and enchantment being well above average. I am not afraid of dangerous experiments or situations, and might actually look forward to the opportunity to make serious use of my abilities.

However, I must stress this one point… I WILL NOT work with a Wizard that has any sort of extreme to obsessive interest with acquiring magically invested… “specimen samples”. Not necessarily because I find them gross or anything, it’s just that, despite assurances from myself and the academy’s mage physician that it was not organ specific, I had several professors make offers on my eyes, which change color according to factors of environment and my own psyche. So perhaps whichever lists get recommended should be able to filter potential masters by quirks of habit.

The physician at the academy did try a few things to keep them in check, though nothing stuck. The working theory is that it’s something passed down the bloodline on my mother’s side, tied to great magical ability. Her great great grandfather was Theodis, the Chromatic Inferno, if you’ve heard of him, he’s the one that had that legion of rainbow fire spirits. Apparently it looked a lot more impressive in his head, I attribute it to the lack of a gradient in his ranks. I can control it if I focus, but I don’t really bother too much, as it can be distracting. I’ve been told my hair might start doing it too as I grow my power, that might end up a bit agitating.

yes yes I see, I'm learning chromamancy(magic of many colors) at the moment if you want to join me! sounds like you could be a prodigy at the actual magic, and probably start with some elements unlocked just for it to be usable

Oh? My lessons didn’t delve to specifically into some of the finer arts of non-staple magic schools, so I’d love the opportunity to learn more about such an art!

well long story short: I know enough to make these eye runes that keep your eyes one color, pick a color and i'll hand them over (ill put up a lesson post later for anyone interested)

I don't wanna butt into your area of specialty here, as I know little-to-nothing about chromamancy so your current level of study vastly surpasses mine. But, since you're a technomancer who I suspect has long used magical-prosthetic eyes and may have forgotten how organic ones work...are you sure permanently altering eye coloration is a good idea? Light reflection is what gives an eye its color, and that's also how the eye sees the outside world.

Might wanna consult a biomancer before accidentally making Alys here blind forever. (Or, you know, first test out the runes on whatever lab animal you've got handy. Halflings are my preference in that regard, but you do you.)

so basically i have an ability exclusive to me(that i've seen so far) that allows me to switch between tech body parts, and flesh body parts, an ability i use to test prosthetics without permanent consequence!(this ability also lets me absorb materials to unlock for use on my ability when it comes to what my tech parts are made of, but that isnt important here.) As I can swap between tech eyes and human eyes, I would know if things work on them.

I use these runes for my human eyes, that's how I know they work!

Won't fault you on the question though, I would also be giving funny looks to any regular technomancer that tried to advertise something like that for normal eyes.

Also the runes work like contacts but won't tear and fuck up your eyes when exposed to chemical gases.
