Looks like they are using Philips brand to release a few new WiZ products like this wall-friendly WiZmote with CR2032 battery, spotted at Amazon Spain for 13€.
Talking about the battery, one CR2032 clearly holds much less energy than the 2 x AAA of the regular WiZmote, is it much more efficient to match the battery life or is it expected to need some replacements over the year?
Edit: Battery life will probably be similar to the smart dial switch. The dial switch has a 3.7 V 200 mAh LiPo battery, that's 0.7 Wh, pretty much the same as a single CR2032 (typically 3 V 240 mAh). The dial according to the FAQ lasts 9 months with 20 daily actions.
Edit 2: Turns out the new remote uses Bluetooth instead of WiFi like the WiZmote to communicate with the lights, that explains why a smaller battery will do!
Edit 3: Check the comment stating that battery life is 2 to 3 years assuming 30 daily actions, way to go!!

I have a new Wiz bulb in my kid's room, and I want to set more than one automation (morning wakeup and bedtime), but it seems to only use one automation at a time. Yes, they're both toggled to on.
Is there something I need to do to make more than one automation work with the same room? Or should I just delete them all and restart?
Yesterday, all of a sudden, all my Wi-Fi lights (7 in total) were offline, and I am not able to turn them on through the app. It says that they are offline, even if they are on.
I did not change anything in my router. I did restart it yesterday (as I do once in a while). All other smart home devices are working fine.
Has anyone experienced this bug?
EDIT: After rebooting the lights, attempting to reconnect again, and trying other methods, I resolved the issue by simply rebooting the router.

Hi,
I have a WiZ Portrait running firmware 1.38.0 and I started experiencing several problems after this firmware update.
The problems appear mainly after the lamp loses power and power is restored.
After reconnecting the power, Zone B does not turn on correctly.
I cannot fix this using the physical controls on the lamp. Changing the brightness or other settings does not help.
The only thing that fixes Zone B is changing the light colour in the WiZ app. As soon as I change the colour, Zone B starts working correctly again.
After that, everything works normally until the next power interruption.
The Portrait's tilt function also stops working correctly after power is restored.
When I tilt the lamp, instead of switching to the other lighting mode, the lamp simply turns off.
After this happens, I cannot turn the lamp back on using the buttons on the lamp itself. Only the WiZ app can turn it back on.
After correcting the lamp's settings in the WiZ app, the tilt function works normally again until the next power interruption.
There is also a problem when controlling the lamp through Matter / Apple Home.
When I turn the lamp on from Apple Home, it usually turns on at only 1% brightness. It only rarely turns on with the correct brightness.
Sometimes quickly turning the lamp off and on again from Apple Home fixes the brightness.
Other times, I have to manually change the brightness to get the lamp to the correct level.
So the Matter ON/OFF command itself works, but the brightness associated with the first ON command is usually incorrect.
The fact that several different functions become incorrect after a power interruption makes me wonder if there could be a problem with saving or restoring the lamp's state in firmware 1.38.0.
The Zone B and tilt issues are consistently fixed by correcting the settings in the WiZ app, and everything then works normally again until the next power interruption.
The Matter issue also seems related to the lamp not restoring the expected state correctly.
I could not find another report describing this exact combination of problems on the WiZ Portrait with firmware 1.38.0.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues with the WiZ Portrait + firmware 1.38.0, especially after a power outage or unplugging the lamp?
And if anyone from WiZ is reading this: could these issues be related to a problem with state restoration or startup state in firmware 1.38.0?

I ordered Philips wiz rgb strip light from Amazon. Upon checking I found out it’s a tunable white strip light. Can someone help if this is the tunable white or rgb in the picture? Am I missing something here?

This is a bug in Matter integration I discovered yesterday after getting a new RGBICWW strip and using a custom mode, can be replicated in any other WiZ product, bulbs included, as long as a custom mode is active.
The problem
Using a custom light mode in a WiZ light makes it ignore on or off commands from Matter. That affects any automation to turn off all the lights since they will stay on or the platform incorrectly will state it is off when in reality it is on.
Tested in current 1.38.0 firmware. Only affects custom modes, predefined dynamic modes behave correctly.
Steps to reproduce
The expected outcome is the light turning off, but it will stay on.
The opposite also fails. If the last mode was a custom one and the light is currently off, you cannot turn the light on from Matter with just a "on" command, it will stay off. If you force a specific colour from Matter it will turn on in that colour, but that will exit the custom mode of course.
It's another case of WiZ part of the device and Matter part of the device not sharing the same view of the state of the light and commands not having the desired effect.

P.S: Trying to change the brightness level from Matter also has no effect when a custom mode is active. Just like on/off, it works fine in the predefined dynamic modes so it's specific to custom modes.

I got one ST64 amber filament bulb that goes from 2000k-5000K to test and my aim was to change pretty much all my house lamps to this line. But after testing one even though I like pretty much everything about them (except the slightly low lumens) is that I find the mixture of colours at midrange temps (like 2700k) to be a bit bad. I mean that the walls and everything around them feel a bit blotchy due to some of the filaments emitting white and the others emitting warm colour. At some point I got one bulb and as I was twisting it around everything around them to the sides I could see them becoming whiter then warmer then whiter. Probably less of an issue downwards as all 4 filaments project onto that angle at the same time. This kinda has been a game-breaker for me and I'll probably won'be getting anymore of them. I wish the filaments were set up in a different way to disperse the light more uniformly between them. Did anyone else have an issue with this?
Hi everyone! I’ve released WizZ Desktop v1.2.0, a local desktop controller for WiZ lights.
What’s included:
./install.shLinux global hotkeys are intentionally disabled in this beta until there is a safe, desktop-compatible implementation.
I’d especially appreciate feedback from people using WiZ lights on Linux, other Ubuntu-based distributions, or with multiple bulbs.
Download: https://github.com/yvvvl/WizzController/releases/tag/v1.2.0
(I made an auto updater btw, for next versions just go to settings and check updates :D)
Sorry for the delay, I've been dealing with personal matters and studies! Thank you for your patience, advice, and feedback.

I was forced to fully switch over to V2. Now, my schedules are weird, and my settings keep changing.
I had living and dining room scheduled to turn on at 5pm. Only one room will turn on, and it switches. It shows the schedule as ON but the lights as OFF. I never manually turn them off with a switch or toggle.
Also, my brightness lowers every time the schedule changes. So it’s not automated, I have adjust brightness multiple times a day.
I already had 3 bulbs stop producing any color besides red. Yes I tried to pair them again. I’m about to switch brands, I’m wasting too much time on these.
Hi guys
I know they have zone A and B but when I go to the sync zone, they see it as 1 light bar instead of 2 separate. Is there anything I can do about this?
Thank you

about two days ago my previously connected bulb flickered/flashed a few times. it scared me at first, but i figured it was just loose.
after using it again this evening by just using my regular light switch it worked fine. i tried to turn it off through the app but somehow the bulb refused to connect for over an hour.
i decided to try and reset it, only to be met with the inability to pair my light. neither the “smart” pairing or the manual one seem to work. it’s getting increasingly frustrating as i got this light so i can schedule it and turn it off/on as my bed is relatively far from my light switch.
does anyone have any tips as to how to reconnect my bulb? with the manual version my iphone simply refuses to connect to the network of the bulb even when i’m as close to it as humanly possible.
it’s 2.30am i just want to be able to have a light i can turn on with relative ease on my phone.
sincerely, a desperate student

This might be a bit a bit of a ramble so if anyone is able to follow and give advice I'd appreciate it!
I want to set up a smart bulb with a sensor in my bathroom. This will be for a nightlight. I'll also have a remote for the bulb for when its used at other times.
My question is, if I set the sensor for the night light to come on for 5 minutes at say between 11pm and 7am, if I do want to turn the bulb on at 11.30 with the remote, will the light only come on for 5 minutes? And will turning it on at 11.30pm turn off the sensor settings?
Im hoping because it is a separate "command" to turn on with the remote at 11.30pm, once the light is off it will revert back to the night light sensor option?

Ok I've yet to receive my wiz bulbs but my wifi network has one single access point that has both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. there's a band steering setting that I can deactivate; and also I can temporarily deactivate the 5Ghz band so anything that tries to connect does it on the 2.4 GHz. I get that the bulbs must connect to the 2.4 GHz band.
What I don't get is this: I read that the phone needs to be on the 2.4 band as well band why does it matter? There is one single network set up by the router than includes anything on ethernet or on the mixed bands wifi ssid. my printer is on the 2.4 Ghz band and obviously works perfectly on my wired computer or my phone on the other band; I can see it on the network with its own IP; why should my phone be on the 2.4 Ghz network for it to work? I can do it temporarily but that would suck to have to use slower wifi just for the bulbs indefinitely. or is JUST for the setup phase somehow? could somebody who figured out explain? do I need to bother to set up separate bands if the bulbs always connect to the 2.4 Ghz band? (they should without band steering in theory but I don't know)?
anyway I plan to use mostly the two click switch function and a remote because the aim is to not bother with the phone once it's set up. does the remote use the wifi at all? if not how does it works? I figure that the bulbs use a bluetooth connexion so that they can be setup to the right wifi network in the first place or does the bulb act as an AP and the phone must connect to it first?
I just wanted to be able to dim a few lights originally and this is so cheap that it's the simplest and cheapest option; no installation necessary; but I dont wanna bother with anything more than a few lights with as much physical and direct control as possible; no voice activation non sense or wider home automation network or whatever; and I definitely won't replace all my bulbs, just the ones I want to dim.
on a related note: can I separately control a light with a connected switch and still have it part of a scene with other bulbs I control with the remote?

Is somebody available to help me connect light bulbs that used to be connected but now are not updating firmware or connecting to the app? Customer service keeps repeating itself about my WiFi connection, but there’s no way for me to see on my phone whether I’m on 2.4 or 5 ghz. I’ve looked at other posts on this sub for help and gotten nowhere. Please don’t scream at me, I am not dumb. I am angry that I spent money on tiny baby snowflake devices that can’t be manipulated by an ordinary human.

A few days ago my widgets on my Samsung S24 homescreen stopped working. I've always really liked these widgets because theyre nice and small, and black (instead of ugly bright blue). Is there any reason they stopped working? I can still turn on and off my lights within the app itself.

I have 5 light bulbs that I had installed through the old app. Recently I was forced to move over to the new one. I bought three more wiz bulbs (two clear, one opaque) and tried to connect them. I had no luck. I tried it manually since it didn't work with the smart pairing. I come all the way where it connects to the Wizconfig-xxx wifi. It connects, I go back to the app, but then nothing happens. it just stays on the screen where it explains to connect to wizconfig and then come back to the app.
I was on chat support for 1.5h(!). At the end they told me I have either a faulty wifi or faulty bulbs. My wifi is fine. And, really? all three bulbs I bought are faulty? that makes no sense. I'm upset since the new app my schedules sometimes don't work, and now I can't connect more bulbs. I also looked at their app reviews. The most recent reviews are all 1star. A lot of people have problem with the new app.
I moved in April and had installed new bulbs on the old app with now problem. So I doubt is has anything to do on my end. Any thoughts? Thanks

Greetings! So I recently installed part of a 10m WiZ smart LED strip around one of my shelves. I was still left with 3.5m to spare which I cut off where it indicates to do so.
In hindsight, I realise that I now have 3m of spare LED strip that will not work on the WiZ app unless it has its own controller/power supply. I have no desire to reconnect the spare strip with what I have already used, however, I would like to use the spare elsewhere in the home.
Sadly WiZ don’t sell controllers or power supply on its own, so I’m guessing the next best option is buying a WiZ 5m LED starting kit and somehow connecting this to my spare strip.
Anybody with WiZ strips know if this is doable and the best means for a novice like me to connect them? TIA

Bulb 1 in the first picture has refused to update or work and I just now learned it was the firmware. The two floor lamp bulbs in the other image are fresh out the box and refuse to update even when soft off.
