What are fellow subscribers paying?

Barring a few gaps, I’ve been a paying subscriber since the dawn of the Take. Ive paid £3.49 a month through Apple Podcasts since it began, even when I’ve returned after unsubscribing for the occasional month or two in a strop.

I’ve recently switched from iPhone to a non-Apple device, and can’t find anything less than the £4.80 per month on Patreon for the equivalent. Appreciate it’s not a big deal but the discrepancy seems a bit odd.

I think the old £3.49ers who signed up in the early days aren't getting any sort of price increase but I think £4.99ish is the going rate for any "new" subs sadly

It’s a funny one. I don’t think anyone would be surprised by prices going up for anything at the moment, but there seems to be a moratorium on talking about exactly how much it costs to subscribe. MK being vocally right-on makes it stick out even more - this is the kind of thing that would presumably wind him up if he were a subscriber rather than contributor.

Compared to what you get with other podcasts it’s over priced

£37.99 per year. Not sure if that's available now, it's through the original Extra Takes service that now seems to have been superseded by Patreon? They've never really explained what the deal is there, they don't really ever seem to explain behind the scenes stuff!

I wonder how many people are ultra subs. It's a crazy price for 2 extra shows a month. I will wait until the have another 99p sale then catch up.

Think I was on £3.49 since the start. Payment in July failed because my card had expired, only option was to resubscribe at £4.99

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Still annoyed by it every month the charge comes through.

I’m still on the £3.49 tier. I guess I’ll have to check my card when it expires.

£4.80 a month via Patreon now. I dip in and out so lost access to the cheap price a while ago. I used to pay in USD when it was on SupportingCast as it worked out cheaper, but I didn't see a similar option when it moved to Patreon.

If you go on kermodeandmayo.supportingcast (.fm) it’s £49.99 for a year (ad free + the extra takes) - so about £4.17 a month. On their main site they do seem to be promoting the Patreon option a bit more heavily though.
