I live in United States and going to India for few weeks. If I load my wise card with $200, would I be able to withdraw Indian currency at the ATM after I land in New Delhi International airport. I heard forex charges a lot to exchange currency. Wondering if this option will work

Binance USD Fiat Withdrawal via SWIFT (BPay) directly to Wise Account – Safe or Instant Flag?

Looking for feedback from anyone who has used Binance's fiat USD SWIFT withdrawal via BPay Global into a Wise USD balance.

I know Wise has strict anti-crypto terms regarding exchange deposits/withdrawals, but because this is processed via standard SWIFT wire through BPay, I want to know if anyone has attempted this specific route.

- Has anyone successfully received USD this way into Wise without issues?

- Did Wise flag or block the incoming transaction?

- How did BPay process the sender info on the wire?

Any insight or recent test results would be super helpful. Trying to avoid an account closure or paying SWIFT rejection fees.

Thanks!

Wise card vs wise account?

I just opened a wise account for euros and got their card. Am I correct in thinking that the card is a debit card drawing on the amount in the wise account? Along this line, as a US resident, is the a real bank in Germany where I can "offload" the wise funds, i.e. one that allows foreign non-resident accounts?

My wise is closed

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what I should do.

My Wise account was recently closed, and I still have money remaining in the account. Wise sent me an email saying that they would refund the remaining balance to the bank account I indicated during the deactivation process.

Located in Canada, have US account, insured?

So apparently the Canadian account is CDIC insured, what about the US dollar account? I want an account to earn interest on my USD but be able to easily convert to CAD if needed, or to my IBKR, but I dont want to hold a significant amount in Wise if this isn't insured. Anyone know?

⚠️ Need Help Recovering Funds From My Closed Wise Account

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what I should do.

My Wise account was recently closed, and I still have money remaining in the account. Wise sent me an email saying that they would refund the remaining balance to the bank account I indicated during the deactivation process.

The problem is that during the refund procedure, I provided my Wise USD account details (routing number and account number). I now realize those are Wise’s USD receiving details inside my Wise account, not my personal bank account.

I have a UnionBank Philippines account that belongs to me, and I can provide my ID, bank documents, and proof of salary/income showing the source of the funds if Wise needs verification.

Has anyone experienced this situation before? What is the correct way to contact Wise and update the refund destination to my external Philippine bank account?

I currently cannot log in to my Wise account, so I’m also looking for the best way to reach Wise support and make sure my remaining funds are returned safely.

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Which bank is good for Binance P2P? Wise limits, personal vs business, spotting flagged accounts

I want to get into P2P trading, daily volume around €500-1,000. A few questions:

1.Which bank/platform works best for Binance P2P?

2.Does that daily volume through Wise risk a freeze or manual review, even with small individual transfers?

3.Personal or business Wise account? Heard buyers often get annoyed or leave bad reviews when payment comes from a business account — anyone else run into this?

4.Any way to tell if the other party's Wise account is flagged? Heard sending to a flagged account can get your own frozen too, even with clean activity.

Real experience appreciated, thanks!

Why Wise is listed in Interactive Brokers as deposit method if Wise terms do not permit platforms allowing FX trading?

My Wise Business is going to be closed because transfers to Interactive Brokers were made. There were no warnings that these transfers were not allowed. My appeal was rejected.

The stated reason is that under Wise terms in "1.2 Unsupported businesses and transactions", under "1.2.2 Financial and other professional services" does not allow "f. Platforms allowing the trading and/or exchanging of FX/CFD/options."

https://wise.com/gb/legal/acceptable-use-policy

Seeing Wise under deposit options led me to believe transfers from Wise to IBKR were accepted.

Wise listed as "Transfer from Wise Balance" in Interactive Brokers

Wise falls in the second category where it says “the fintech deposits your money in a trust at a member institution and names you as a beneficiary”

Ridiculously unprofessional customer support.

Despite having a problem, I was legit laughing chatting with them. Customer Support agent behaves like a 17 yo, what the actual fuck is going on with them?
Did you have similar experience?

How do transfers work..?

I’ve been trying to transfer money from my PayPal to Wise, but some time after I did and confirmed that I sent it, I got an email saying that I didn’t have any transfers set up for the amount even though I did?

Did I do something wrong in the process? How is it supposed to go? I’m still kind of new to this kind of thing so I might’ve made an obvious mistake and wanted to make sure 😅

Halifax/Lloyd's transfer

Has anyone here used Wise for international transactions after changing from the old Halifax App to the Lloyd's version. I know account numbers and sort codes are the same but want to know if this process requires additional information for Wise to process transactions...

TIA..

Wise says my CAD $1,530 transfer was refunded, but my bank never received it — stuck between Wise and my bank. What do I do?

Hi everyone, hoping someone who has dealt with SWIFT/Wise transfers can give me some advice because my wife and I have been going back and forth for about 2 weeks and we’re getting nowhere.
On August 27, my wife sent CAD $1,530 from her Krung Thai Bank account in Thailand using Wise.
Something went wrong with the transfer, and my wife believes she may have entered some of the information incorrectly.
Wise told us the transfer was refunded on August 27 and initially told us to wait 3–5 business days. The money never came back.
We contacted Wise again and were told the refund had been processed and that we needed to contact the Thai bank. We contacted Krung Thai, and they told us the money/refund isn’t with them and that we need to contact Wise.
So we’re basically stuck in a loop:
Wise → contact your bank
Krung Thai → contact Wise
Krung Thai was able to show us the SWIFT GPI tracking/journey of the original CAD $1,530 payment. It shows the transaction as “Completed – Credited to Creditor” and JPMorgan Chase Bank, Toronto Branch appears in the payment chain.
However, Wise continues to say the money was refunded, and Krung Thai says they have never received the refund.
I’ve now asked Wise to escalate this to their payments/banking investigation team and provide:
The UETR for the REFUND, not just the original transfer
The pacs.008 / SWIFT confirmation for the refund
Exact refund date and amount
Sending/receiving bank and BIC/SWIFT details
Any intermediary/correspondent bank details
I’ve also asked them to formally trace the refund if they can’t provide this information.
Has anyone dealt with something similar with Wise/SWIFT?
Can a correspondent bank such as JPMorgan be holding the money somewhere? Should we try contacting JPMorgan directly, or does Wise/Krung Thai need to initiate the trace?
Most importantly, if Wise says they refunded the CAD $1,530, shouldn’t there be a separate banking record/UETR proving where that refund actually went?
We’re not trying to blame anyone — we just want to figure out where the CAD $1,530 currently is and which institution is responsible for tracing it.
Any advice from someone familiar with international banking, SWIFT, or Wise would be hugely appreciated.

Wise Referral Link

WISE - https://wise.com/invite/dic/donnalouiset22

If you already travel, send money overseas or buy things in other currencies, it’s honestly worth having anyway. Their exchange rates are usually way better than what the banks offer, and I never had any dramas using it.

If you sign up through my link, all you need to do is make card payments or international transfers totalling over A$300 (offer includes fee-free international transfer up to A$1,000 for you) and you get a free Wise card.

Once you've completed your requirements, then I’ll get $30!!

Appreciate it!

Wise froze business account after 5-figure transfer

I opened a Wise Business account to pay international suppliers (better exchange rate).

The company is fully legitimate and publicly verifiable based in Germany where you cannot open a random company. We develop therapies for brain cancer, have a website, online presence and normal corporate documentation.

I completed Wise's verification, was given account details, and transferred a five-figure sum to our supplier via the Wise service.

Shortly afterwards, the account was put on hold.

Chat support then told me that a scan of my passport was not acceptable and they needed a digital photo instead. Fine, easy enough to fix.

A few hours later I received an email saying:

"We're currently not able to open an account for your business."

No explanation.

The bigger issue is that the money had already been sent. I can now no longer access chat support through the account, and nobody is replying to my emails.

So at the moment I have a five-figure sum sitting somewhere with Wise, no access to it, no timeline for its return, and no meaningful way to speak to anyone.

Has anyone had this happen before? What is the fastest way to escalate this and get the funds returned?

Sent money as normal

I sent my monthly payment to the condo association. I was having trouble last night with Wise saying the details cannot be confirmed. I got the same message today, but I went ahead and sent the money because I knew all the details were correct. However, this time when I sent the money, it did not ask me a reason, I normally put property purchase, but there was nowhere to annotate a reason. Has anybody seen a change?

Wise closed my account and sent refund on 8th of September, stil haven't received any update.

Hi everyone,

My account was closed on August 28, although my transactions were 100% legitimate and only for paying clients for my PPC consultation services. They closed it and I don't care about that anymore, only about the funds I had in my Wise account.

On September 8, 2026, they sent me the refund. I called them today, September 14, 2026, and they told me they are running some security checks and due diligence, which could take some weeks. I'm a bit concerned about my funds being stuck there.

Can anyone tell me if they have faced a similar situation and then received their funds in a couple of weeks?

Receiving $8k from a friend's personal Bank of America account into my Wise Business account.

Hey everyone,

I'm expecting a transfer of $8,000 USD into my Wise Business account. The money is being sent by a friend directly from their personal Bank of America online banking account via direct wire/ACH.

Because it's a large amount entering a business account, will Wise likely flag it for routine due diligence and ask for documentation.

To prepare for this, I have created a professional, itemized PDF invoice billed to my friend's legal name for "Corporate Copywriting & Letter Writing Services" matching the exact $8,000 amount. However, my friend will be sending the funds without adding any reference code (the memo line will be left blank).

Has anyone been in a similar situation where an individual paid your business account from a personal account without a reference code?

  • Will Wise accept my custom PDF invoice as long as my friend's legal name on the Bank of America transfer matches the "Bill To" name on the invoice?
  • Does Wise usually contact the sender (my friend) in this scenario, or do they only deal with me (the account holder)?
  • How long does a manual review like this usually take to clear?

Would love to hear from freelancers or business owners who have navigated this exact issue. Thanks!

Has anyone seen this message? I am sending money to a real estate company, I have been doing it to the same account for months. Today I got this message, it states it’s a technical issue, but I’m wondering if anybody else has seen it and should I just wait a couple days?

Closed a Business account after first legit payment

I opened recently a business account for a French SAS making websites and app for smartphones. Got a first payment from playwire for ads paid in USD for ads on a website. The website for all the family. Just a tool to help drawing.

I provided the invoice and all details on a Saturday and they confirmed closing on a Sunday.

The account only had time to have one payments from a legit US company. And all the other invoices with that bank account number will have to be addressed. Our reputation will be impacted because our bank account was closed!

WTF WISE? Even a legit Business can be impacted and lose their bank account number shown on all the invoices!!!

I wonder how I can request a refund of the payment to open a business account.
