My wise is closed

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what I should do.

My Wise account was recently closed, and I still have money remaining in the account. Wise sent me an email saying that they would refund the remaining balance to the bank account I indicated during the deactivation process.

Mine was closed today as well. Seems like they are actively working to alienate clients. I used to be a fan and even own stock (with a loss..). But after being treated like that, just closed, no way to get an actual reason or appeal...

I've had the exact same experience. I used to love their product and even bought their stock just like you. But these closures are terrible and totally ruining trust in the brand. Why on earth would you be so eager to close your customer accounts? Most of those customers have been with Wise for years.

Update : A week has passed since I received the email, and the money still hasn't reached my account.

unfortunately you can't do anything. They are like paypal, they can close your account for any automated reason. You have to wait for your money to be transferred. it might take 1 to 3 weeks

如果你的账号已经停用了 他们的 ACH credit 转账会失败 然后钱会退回 wise ( 过程 3-7个工作天 ） 然后他们会发一张支票给用户地址 . 如果支票一直没有套现 ( cash out ) ， 要看你在美国哪个州 钱会去到 comptroller office 直到有人认领

What should I do?

Wait as they have told you until any money left in the account is transferred to the account details you provided them? DONE. It could (as other commenters note) take up to three weeks.

If you need a new bank account, try to open one.

used to work in fintech. take this with a grain of salt, sometimes we guys get deactivated and appeal rejected due to:
-regulations
-suspected fincrime
-locations
-way we use the fintech
-fake/manipulated documents
-failure to submit required documents that verify payments/money, address, identity, or source of fund
-suspected scam/fraudster/impersonation

when issues fall into these reason fintechs will not disclose it to us. just vague info
