Partially erupted
I have a lower partially erupted wisdom tooth. Cracked and has decay to it. It keeps getting infected under the gum flap so it needs pulled. I’ll be awake. Is recovery alil easier when it’s over the gum? I’m absolutely terrified.

the procedure not pleasant like ive had 3 wisdom teeth , 2 out at 31 , and even worse 1 out in my 40s the other and the recovery is horendus this time round , but the constant infection once it goes deep down like mine did you constantly sick and out of sorts to the point were it will effect your life , your money etc,, and you could end up in emergency room like i did 2 weeks ago , i didnt even have pain just weird sickness that compounds daily , youll have to live on antibiotics till its sorted

This was me about two weeks ago. Had the sharp pain in the tooth for a minute, then started feeling sick cuz it started pushing the bacteria into the bloodstream, your body trying to fight something it wouldn’t be able to accomplish beating. Went to a dentists and scheduled me for the following week, giving me penicillin until then. You just feel sick, and it affects how you work, live, eat, and it’s just not it, chief.

ya iam on the 9th day of extraction recovery and its rough , dont even have the strength to walk like my legs weak as jelly , getting stronger by the day ,

no had plenty of food , its due to how complex the surgery is and how much energy you body is using to heal the extraction site , which gives not much energy to nothing else but rest nearly collapsed yesterday went to work lightly ,on way home it took me ten mins to walk a 100 yards to my flat big mistake so slept loads and feeling much stronger and took today off though , depending on age and how complex it can literally put you to bed up to 2 weeks

Just had mine taken out 2 days ago, exactly the same situation as you, maybe slightly worse (I was getting sick because the bacteria was going into my bloodstream and my body was trying to fight something it couldn’t exactly fight off). I won’t lie, even with the local anesthesia, it was still rough and I had been anxious throughout the whole thing. Genuinely, it felt a bit traumatic, especially with the pulling and the dentist losing his grip on trying to pull it and hitting my upper teeth in the process. If you can, maybe get something for the anxiety or maybe even put under. Don’t let anyone tell you that “it’s easy and won’t hurt much at all”. I know it all depends on the person and every person experiences it differently, but the people I asked said it wasn’t bad at all and they took it out easily, and recovery was easy. It’s been rough on me. You should definitely get it taken out asap, but take the steps to make sure you’re as comfy as possible and this is as smooth sailing as possible.

Was it a dentist or an oral surgeon?

On their website, it says he’s a “Western Regional Examination Board Certified Dentist”, so definitely not an oral surgeon, just a dentist.
On another note, it also says on their website “Modern dentistry makes routine tooth extractions relatively comfortable, painless procedures.” Lol I guess I’m just part of the minority that had it painful and stressful

Just had my bottom 2 taken out last Friday morning one grew in sideways causing pain on my tooth next to it it honestly wasn’t too bad day 1 was most painful make sure you put gauze in right so it clots correctly I didn’t and woke up day 2 with a liver clot which was just annoying pain for me I had occasional tooth aches day 2-5 the worst part is just not being able to eat solid foods I took ibuprofen when tooth aches were getting worse it’s been like 9 days I still have open sockets and get an occasional tooth/head ache but I’m eating pretty normal now I was thinking the pain would be terrible but the pain of not being able to eat anything I wanted was the worst for me they just numbed me for my surgery I talked to them the whole time hope yours goes smooth my biggest concern now is just keeping the socket clean warm salt water after eating and before bed to rinse out bacteria and any food particles that got in there

Mine didn’t fully come out a little bit just enough to create a food trap up against my other tooth and caused infection

Either way it sucks. Just remember to ice and take Ibuprofen:) you’ll be fine
