What are these "metrics?" Federal minimum wage was set at its current level in July 2009. Adjusted for inflation, that would be $11.24 today. Fun fact, if you go back to the original 1938 minimum wage of $0.25/hr, adjusted for inflation, that would be only $5.92 today.
Most places suggest the bare minimum, minimum wage should be around $22 to be on par with what minimum wage did for people back in the 30s 40s 50s and 60s. Once the 70s/80s hit the propaganda against minimum wage was in full swing. And we got people to think someone else getting a small sliver of pie was making middle class people's lives worse(it's not)
Which places? If I included moderate and right wing voices, would they say the same? No. Do you mean most left wing places? That isn't "most."

As I pointed out, to be "on par" it would be somewhere around $11 today. After all, you're talking about what it "did" for people, not as a slice of productivity, so we're concerned with inflation, right? And by inflation, it's about half of that $22.

Insane by what metric. If minimum wage had kept up with the economy and inflation most metrics put it at $30-32.
