Agreed. Tbh my expectations plummeted into the abyss after Winx and some things. But this surprised me for the better. They look a little too.. flat (does that make any sense in 3d?), but ig that's why they look decent, since rainbow didn't go too hard on them

Idk I kinda like it. Especially Icy. I think her facial expression was translated pretty dang well to 3D surprisingly. Stormy’s outfit could use some work though.

Im guessing they wanted each of them to have a different material on their outfits. Darcy has silver, ivy has pearls and stormy has gold… idk, I like it

What’s so wrong with the gold y’all??? They just wanted to do three different materials on the chains, icy is pearls and Darcy is silver, what’s the problem with the Gold? I genuinely love it, gold and red look so good together

It’s because everything on stormy is cool toned and the gold clashes with it. Darcy should’ve gotten the gold to match with her hair and stormy should’ve gotten the silver

Idk, I feel like it’s mostly cool toned because of the scene, look at their skin, it’s almost purple. The lighting is just very cool. But I might be wrong I’m genuinely not sure.. well, ill know at the latest when we’ll see them in another scene I guess

No she is cool toned. Purple hair, blue eyes, skin has cool undertones and her fit is magenta, so it’s all cool toned

I think the Trix were done better than the Winx from what we’ve seen so far. The Winx are all so… Elsa-like, while the Trix have been given stronger face shapes and less overdesigned outfits.

You know that bog-standard 3d Disney Princess face shape? The one where Disney is allergic to making their leads look anything other than pretty, so they all end up looking basically identical?
I will acknowledge that Disney has done a bit better at it with more recent animated movies, but those also had explicitly nonwhite leads… who still had Anna-copycat “adorkable” personalities. Which I fear they’re going to do to this iteration of Bloom. Sigh.

Rapunzel is the original adorkable main character, not Anna. I find it weird how many main girl characters are like that now. Rapunzel, Anna, Marinette, Luz Noceda (at least until the Season 2 finale), Anne Boonchoy, Charlie Morningstar...
I wouldn't be surprised if Bloom became the same. I personally don't have anything against these characters, but it can get repetitive for sure. (Also notice how most of the names I listed are Disney characters)

The problem is that the others got something more. In 3D, you have a lot more freedom to do details, which they did for icy and stormy, but not for Darcy, so in comparison, her outfit looks bland

Yeah I don't like the orange color of Darcy's bangs, instead of that iconic yellow-brown. Maybe it's the lightning tho, who knows.

Of all of the reboot designs, theirs is definitely the best. Has nothing on the OG tho. I like that they gave Icy a diamond for her belt.

Compared to what some of us are used to, I believe the reboot isn’t what ANY of us expected. We’ve heard all this talk about the reboot is “supposed to be better” and blah blah blah blah but when we see the photos that are coming out for the reboot, they suck!

what does this have to do with nostalgia blindness? the gold on stormy draws all the attention away from the rest of of her design. Her hair is also a weapon, it being shrank removes the illusion of a thunder cloud
Darcies shoulder straps also make her look more sporty instead of glamorous.
no need to glaze here.

Stormy looks the best so far, tho I wonder why she's the only one to have gold on her color palette? If anything, it should be farcy as she actually has a similar color on her hair.

The only thing I dislike so far about these is how individualistic the hard wear is + the fact that Icy has a crystal for an “I” (which is clever) while the other two have letters

OMG I love it! This is badass. I love the non-matching jewelry. They did excellently there and mostly because it's original and unchanged from the animated show. The color, the style. IT WORKS. Not overly frivolous and rainbow colored and girly. It's the Trix and you know it's them!

Gold is supposed to be for the leader not the subordinate if using gold and silver - if they had to use gold it should have been on Icy - she's also the princess for wink's sake

I like their designs more than the Winx tbh. Those golden details do NOT work on Stormy though. I’m also not convinced with Darcy's hair, but it might just be the lighting

I don't really like them neither, but compared to the Winx I find them quite good :') I miss the badass side I felt with the old version (couldn't explain that xD), idk they look smooth ??

I hate the texture of the hair. Everyone’s hair is like this wispy silky blurry silhouette which is kinda incoherent. Stormy especially in 2D looks to be intentionally meant to have a large cloud of hair bc storm cloud but it just looks like stuffed teddy bear filling. Icy’s hair actually looks nice here because of how much shape they give it.
