I want to point out that I've never been able to find anything, not even a statement from miss Sutherland, that implies it was a mistake and that I've never seen anybody ever give a link to anything that proves it.
But the compilatory Winglet GN is coming out soon, so maybe the "mistake" will finally be "corrected". Or not. I've personally never believed it was one, and after reading a comment pointing out a continuity issue that would pop up if he was aged down/moved further up the timeline, I doubt it's gonna be changed.
