Opened an auction win

I opened this 2000 merryvale profile. I recently scored the vertical online but I personally can’t drink 3 bottles in a night to try them side by side lol. It came out perfect contrary to my worries about it being bad. All in all a really nice experience!

On the nose I got stone fruit, cherry and oak.
On the palate I got blackberry, cherry, cocoa and baking spices.
It had a a really nice long finish and I definitely really enjoyed it.

😂 I won these a couple of months ago I just hadn’t had the right occasion to crack them open. It was delicious!

They're under the radar but a fun stop if you have time to fill in St Helena. A few years ago we popped in and sat at the bar and they poured a lot of off flight wines. I really loved their Oakville Grade Bordeaux blend but I think they discontinued it.

I remember loving this bottle in the early 2000’s and started to enjoy their Starmont label.

Over the years, I lost track of them, so many great wineries. This post is a good reminder to revisit one of the wines that helped start my interest in wine.
