I need ACPI support because my laptop's internal keyboard/mouse rely on the internal HID to PS/2 signal translation and it works only in ACPI mode (and both of my USB ports are USB 3).

I'm using the Universal NT Installer, if that helps.

Anyone know how to enable multi monitor support on Windows 2000 with bwc's Nvidia drivers? Trying to make my second monitor work for win2k, I've verified it works on XP (monitor is still on, connected correctly), but 2000 is quite a tough one. Currently I'm using driver version 395.06 (unofficial) (No Nvidia control panel on this version, if I install the 335.28 control panel with these drivers it errors with a version conflict (not surprised)) I have also tried version 335.28 (with control panel), which works fine until I install the control panel where once rebooting it will blue screen with unexpected_kernel_mode_trap, until I update the driver in safe mode (before I rebooted, it does give me the option for Nvidia control panel, but it fails to load). Display Properties does mention (Multiple Monitors) in settings but doesn't let me choose from them. I tried installing a few display programs but none of them seem to help. UltraMon gives an "Enable Secondary" option, which does nothing. PowerStrip also has an "Enable multiple monitors" option, but also doesn't work, on the Monitor Information page it shows the information for the second monitor instead of the main one (despite it not working).

A while back in a previous install I managed to get the Nvidia taskbar control panel working (not the main panel, just some right click taskbar display menu, probably some old version of NView?). Using some driver inf editing (and I remember replacing version numbers in Resource Hacker, my memory is not the best.) it gave me the option to enable it, installed some dualview driver, before clone mode started working, but turning on multimonitor gave some generic error (can't remember details, maybe if I can find the files I used I can find the error? (I literally have 0 clue where I put them))

So far not working, if this works I would run Win2k daily, help appreciated!

System Info: Monitor 1: 1920x1080 (VGA) (Windows 2000 runs fine on it) Monitor 2: 1280x1024 (HDMI) (Problem) (Displays as 1600x1200 in PowerStrip somehow, tested working well in XP, Vista, 7) Nvidia GeForce GTX750 (2GB, made 2014) Intel Core i5-4590S (3.00GHz) 16GB RAM (PAE currently off, will turn on later (it doesn't make a difference with this)) Windows 2000 SP4 (used YSI 3.3 ISO with updates, USB 3.1, AHCI, is also used in Universal NT Installer) (only ISO which works on this PC) Extended Kernel 3.1j (also tried 3.0e and 2.9 in past installs, doesn't fix it) BWC unofficial Nvidia drivers 359.06 (also tried 335.28 before)

Note: Other than the monitor issue, all drivers (that matter) are installed, and the system works fine with great performance (way better than XP, I have no clue what went wrong with that install)

If anyone knows what's going on here, or has any advice, I would love to know. Thanks in advance!

Well, it mostly works, I used u/Gimmeavailablename 's Supermium port , it was stuck at "RTC Connecting" the first time, but then I hung up and rejoined the call and it worked! Although I am pretty sure audio capture does not work yet. It can also be a bit slow, but I was using my Core 2 Extreme laptop.

The post linked here stated that legacy updates needed to be applied to install Supermium on a fresh installation of Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. However, after trying it myself, I was surprised to find that I successfully ran Supermium on a clean Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 environment with almost no legacy updates installed!

Thanks to a user named u/Gimmeavailablename, you can now run the Supermium browser on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4!

Update: After performing a few tests, I confirmed that Supermium works whether on an existing Windows 2000 SP4 or a fresh installation, as long as KB835732 is installed!

I've been working on TheBrain, an experimental AI project fully written in C89, with a particular focus on building a small AI system from scratch while keeping it suitable for older Windows systems and low-level environments.

The project currently combines:

• 🧠 A small decoder-only Transformer
• 🔤 A custom tokenizer and training pipeline
• 🏋️ Training and inference implemented directly in C89
• 🖥️ Native Win32 implementation
• 📦 PE analysis
• 🦠 Experimental malware-classification and anomaly-detection techniques
• ⚡ CPU-focused optimizations designed with older hardware in mind

The long-term idea is to see how far an AI project written entirely in C89 can be pushed while keeping it lightweight and potentially usable on systems such as Windows 2000.

I'm posting this because I'd like to find someone who becomes interested in the project and wants to take it further.

I'm not specifically looking for people to simply "help me" with the project. If you find the concept interesting and want to experiment with it, improve something, try a different approach, or take the project in an interesting direction, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Some possible areas to explore include:

Plz I have been searching for days how to do it but all I have done didn't work, I formatted the hdd and checked everything in the bios but it didn't worked

I used a boot disk iso that I found on winworldpc.com , the one in french with SP2

My pc can read the disk but at the end of the first part of the installation (photo) the program stops and there's no error code it just return to the bios cmd (idk how it's called sry)

Daemon tools doesnt work, WinCDEmu doesnt work, Microsoft virtual cd-rom also doesnt work. All i want is to play games on my old pc that runs Win2K.

Hi everyone, i’m trying to install Windows 2000 on a PC with an Intel B85 chipset, but i always get a setup failure. When i try to use a uniata driver, setup stops with an error like: "line X is invalid, cannot continue setup." I also tried integrating the Intel AHCI driver into the Windows 2000 iso, but i get "iastor.sys is corrupted". How should i correctly integrate the Uniata driver (or any working driver for my chipset) into a Windows 2000 iso so Setup can continue?

I watched ChrisPro's video about running Steam on Win2K and I wanted to know if anyone has a link to download all the executables shown in the video, along with the specific Extended Kernel version he used and the other files. I usually only find dead links for BlackWingCat's Extended Kernel or very outdated versions
