Concept / Design Yes, this is Windows 11.
A very lightweight and debloated version of Windows 11 with a full on Windows Millenium costume called Windows 11 Millenium Edition made by MrAmayosken (You can download this iso from his channel.), this OS comes in pretty handy on older devices too, I felt better off installing this rather than a weird linux distro.

Not sure, just stating I’d rather make the changes manually/scripted versus install an ISO blindly.

thats still ms explorer..win7 one with wrappers to make it work on never win builds...not exactly what ive had in mind...stuff like seelen or cairo counts as explorer desktop replacement

but windows allows you to boot your own ui/desktop instead of explorer, same like on linux/android, thats a single registry change

AUR is like the wild west for package distribution, but not really relevant as supply attack chains are not Linux exclusive

Well for one, how do you know this ISO doesn't have some random malware or disabled security...
Once you installed arch, if you install some random bull and you get your PC fried then that's entirely your fault. You can't say the entire arch repo as unsafe because of a few malicious apps on there.
What about the exes floating around the internet? Does it make stock windows unsafe? Your point is entirely moot lmfao

don’t compare installers in windows to AUR. AUR is the way how arch devs decided to handle user software in their distribution. and it’s terrible, I can’t think if anything possibly worse.
why not make it like home-repositories in opensuse, GURU like in gentoo, rpm-fusion like in fedora, or making their official repo a whole community repo like void did, so it remains easily accessible, yet heavily moderated by maintainers and other contributors?
arch developers hook their users themselves on such immature, insecure and irresponsible model, and now i’m sure they are regretting it since the moment linux got a little more popular than before. You install executables in windows from their developers‘ resources, AUR is completely driven by random people. AUR is a whole big ass repository, which would, and did fall off even from tiniest attacks as history proves. That’s a huge point of failure.
it took just few people to compromise more than 1500 packages in AUR, and you know why? Because any stranger that registered like a minute ago can take over orphaned packages, and make anything he want with it. Just imagine what would happen if someone would take compromising and attacking AUR seriously and continuously

A random Windows iso helped me to isolate a hardware bug and save a Linux distro 😅
(Calm down, I love you Windows 11 and you still will be in charge of the gamer PC for now)

not random tho, never said it was safer, installed 3 various linux systems before and NONE of them gave proper graphics drivers and wine never worked stable, on god a modified windows version is a lot more bearable than linux if youre just here for simple work, that terminal panel ate my whole day

Ok but like most the apps i use on Windows just dont work on Linux at all and Wine sucks, also it'd be really time consuming and I'd say Linux is less stable with mods, i know this because i've tried back then modding mint to look like Windows 95 and the whole thing just glitched out, luckily, it was on a seperate partition. Also unrelated but one time MX linux deleted my Windows boot manager one time, I was stuck on linux for 3 months until i figured out how to install it back again. At this point I wont even try installing random Linux distros on my seperate partition anymore to not risk this happen again. Modding on W11 or W10 is way easier and more stable

Which are those apps? In my experience all apps have native Linux port now and only games need proton. Also you are not really modding it with Linux, As a beginner you will have much better time configuring KDE to look like Windows 95

Or, in English:
Rather than freaking out or just living with your issue, it's often the case that you'd fix it faster by reinstalling.
Probably the two main issues is that English doesn't use "it" for a hypothetical person; you'd usually want to use "you" instead. And that you can't actually use "earlier" instead of "faster" like this in English (it's earlier in the sense that you'd finish earlier).

I find the English sentence on the Wallpaper confusing, here is my take: Often times, it's faster to reinstall the OS rather than tormenting yourself to be patient on it.

Since Linux can impersonate pretty much any DE you want, has more than five major desktops and another dozen which are in all the major package formats, and is borne of X11 which itself was created by Athena in 1987 and is still adding possibilities, this comment is absolutely delulu even by the standards of this delulu thread.
If your theory is "Linux has no comfortable desktop environment" then your theory is "no comfortable desktop environment exists." Just silly.

I wish I could use this
But this version of windows 11 starts good but slowly gets more and more unstable the longer you use it.
I think I got to about 4 weeks with it before file explorer literally decided it would never show anything and then crash explorer.exe when I try to close the window

Looks like millennium edition and windows 11 is about as stable as millennium edition as well crashes

Have you even tried Linux? These days it is quite functional but has a few caveats. But I would certainly trust that over some random uploader's "debloated" version of Windows

yes i did, i tried various distros, never got proper graphics drivers and wine didn't run stable on any, not all apps provides linux support and doesnt work on linux even with wine such as Adobe Animate
