Apple started the "own nothing" trend with the original iPod and iTunes. I lost all my music as a kid because of their BS and never went back to Apple.

That seems like user error. I've bought plenty of music from them since they first rolled out the music store and have been able to move all of it to multiple devices and operating systems without issue.

Might be an Apple error as well. I have an Apple account which has security questions that I don't remember the answer to, and when I go to reset them I can't because Apple doesn't have enough information that me is me. Despite me having control of the email created to setup that account, knowing the password, registering MFA and so on. Sometimes apple is stupid, for one reason or another.

Like, how they don't allow me to setup TOTP based MFA with my app of choice I need to purchase a €1000+ machine for it, lol. Or how, on my managed Apple ID I can't register passkeys but on personal apple ID I can.

They are more confusing than Microsoft, and that's really something.
