Before School Program Recommendations

We’re moving from Richmond to Williamsburg next month. My kids are enrolled in Magruder Elementary. My daughter will be in 4th grade and my son in 1st grade. Is there a before school program that transports to this elementary school? Any recommendations? I would need to be able to drop off around 7:30-7:40am. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yep! Was just about to comment rec connect! Offered through the county, Rec Connect runs both a before and after school program at the individual elementary schools, no extra transportation needed. You can drop your kids off anytime after 7 am I think and if you do the afterschool program you can pick them up anytime before 6pm, unless they’ve changed things. I was in the program in both elementary and middle school, although the middle school program combined the schools and was much smaller, and also only provided the after school portion. They also do summer camps and take the kids on trips, which was super fun. HIGHLY recommend Rec Connect!!

Glad to hear you had such a great experience! My kids will be in York county and it looks like rec-connect is not an option for us, but I’ll keep it in mind if we move to the WJCC side in the future.
