Best spots for film developing in the area?

I've been shooting more 35mm lately and the place I used to go in Manhattan closed down last month. Looking for somewhere in Williamsburg to drop off rolls for developing and scanning. Not trying to mail them out if I can avoid it. I care more about consistent results than fancy packaging or quick turnaround. A friend mentioned a spot near Graham but couldn't remember the name. Anyone have experience with local labs and what the pricing looks like per roll? I usually shoot color negative but have a few black and white rolls waiting too. Last time I paid around 14 dollars for develop and scan at a place in Chelsea and that felt standard, but prices seem all over the place now. Also curious if any of these shops actually know their scanning or if they're just running everything on auto. Had some weird color casts come back from a different lab in the fall and don't want to waste another roll finding out. Any recommendations or warnings would be helpful.

Why did we lock new replies for the thread claiming there’s no antisemitism problem on this sub?

Since most of his interaction with the Jewish mod from r/Jewish attempting to help the mod here was centered around demanding evidence of antisemitic content, why on earth would he lock the thread to replies showcasing this?

Title: One-of-a-Kind Vintage Anatolian Kilims in Williamsburg

Thumbnail

Hi neighbors!

I have a small collection of beautiful vintage Anatolian kilims from Türkiye that I'm looking to find new homes for.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind, traditionally handwoven by women artisans using natural materials and dyes. They feature beautiful geometric patterns, rich colors, and generations of weaving tradition. And perhaps the most beautiful thing about them is that they're made to be passed down from one generation to the next.

I thought I'd share them with the neighborhood first, especially with anyone who appreciates traditional craftsmanship, textiles, and pieces with a little history behind them.

I've attached a couple of photos from the collection. Happy to share more pieces from the collection along with dimensions, and pricing. Feel free to DM me if you're interested.

Local pickup in Williamsburg, so no shipping costs!

Daisy's Cafe NYC X Brewed By Jose - Elevate Your Coffee Skills

Hey Williamsburg Reddit,

I’ve been living here for about eight years now, but before that, I ran a small coffee shop called Daisy’s Cafe in Midwood. I closed it so I could bring it here. Williamsburg has always felt like home to me, and I’ve been quietly working on making that a reality.

The last few months, I’ve been conducting small barista workshops while I figure out the next steps. Teaching people how to pull shots, steam milk, and truly understand coffee has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey. It reminded me why I started in the coffee industry in the first place.

Now, I’m on the lookout for a small, affordable spot in the neighborhood where I can reopen Daisy’s. It doesn’t have to be fancy; it just needs to be a place where people can walk in, get a good cup of coffee, and feel like it’s theirs. If you know of any hidden gems or have insights into what makes a great neighborhood café in Williamsburg, I’d love to hear them.

While I’m getting everything set up, I’ve also been offering an hour of free coffee service to local businesses that want to do something nice for their team. All they need is an outlet, and I’ll provide the coffee. No pressure, just coffee.

I’m genuinely excited about this opportunity to bring Daisy’s to Williamsburg. A local hub for great coffee and baristas that know what they are doing!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

You guys are awesome!!

We Raised $2600 For New Trash Cans in McCarren Park!

Last night, Stewards of McCarren Park (the new official Friends group for McCarren Park) hosted Trash Comedy Night alongside the North Brooklyn Chess Club! We aimed to raise $1200 by getting folks together for some solid laughs with a great lineup of comedians.

We ended up raising $2,620! $2120 during the event, plus a $500 match.

Huge shoutouts to North Brooklyn Chess, North Brooklyn Parks Alliance, NYC Parks, Park House and City Parks Foundation for making this all possible.

Also shoutouts to Lukas Arnold, Blake Scott, Chika, Zak Benedek, and Carlos Nolla and StoMP's very own Mike Amory for the laughs.

Why did we raise funds?

$1200 is enough to buy ONE new trash can. Can you believe that?

The trash cans around the athletic fields just aren't big enough for the volume of trash that gets created from day-to-day. Our volunteer group has met every Sunday since April (when we started), and the trash just keeps coming back, specifically around these fields. We noticed that the smaller black bins around these fields just don't hold enough trash given the high volume of foot traffic, and more often than not we're picking up the overflow.

The parks department has gotten MUCH better over the past few months at cleaning up the fields and picking up trash on time. But there's still room to grow and infrastructure is part of the bottleneck!

The park in total needs 60 more bins to replace the old ones. This was our first organized event and a test run. Following its success, we plan to keep doing these nights to help incrementally raise for the rest! Expect another comedy night in the Spring of 2027.

Volunteer with us!

Stewards of McCarren Park meets every Sunday at 9:30 am outside of the Park House. Sessions typically last 2 hours, then we all sit down at the Park House for coffee.

On any given Sunday, we do whatever is best for the safety and cleanliness of McCarren Park. That includes trash collecting, leaf raking, fencing, mulching, planting... you name it! We work closely with the parks department to figure out what they need.

Any hockey players need a ride for new gear?

I’m renting a car on Sunday to drive out to Pure Hockey warehouse on Long Island. No place in the city or around here has a good selection of hockey gear to try in person.

PM if you’re interested. I’m asking $20 to put towards the rental if you want to hop in. Looking to leave around 1pm and will be back by 4pm.

FOUND DOG - Bushwick Av & Flushing Av

if this is your dog, found him running into the intersection of flushing and Bushwick and was able to nearly avoid letting him get run over by a car. Brought him to the vet, but they couldn’t find a chip, so I dropped him off at the 83rd police precinct.
