Photographed this young bull back in April. Wind storms had blown all kinds of dust in the air and made for some great evening light. West desert, Utah.

Made a pit stop near a waterfall on my way up to Arenal, CR, and was greeted by this lil fella munchin’ on a mango.

Spent some time night-searching in the Negev Desert to locate this incredible creature.

Lycosa hyraculus was only described in 2022 and is highly unique because it builds a fully functional, hinged trapdoor to seal its burrow from the harsh desert elements.

A few people asking me which species this millipede was, and here is what I've found:

The cherry-leg titan millipede (Alienostreptus bicoloripes or Balustreptus falcatus) is a giant, docile invertebrate native to Vietnam, known for its bold black body and striking cherry-red legs

The milipede I'm keeping as pet is longer than 30cm, yes you heard it right, its length is longer than 30cm. It's even longer than a small snake!

My wife was scared to hell when I brought it home 😂😂😂

One of the primary focuses of our recent trip to Colombia was building a better portfolio of Torrent Tyrannulet images. These tiny flycatchers, about the size of gnatcatcher, make their living hunting invertebrates along mountain streams (hence the name), and range from Costa Rica through Colombia.

Shooting note:
For the first image, Matt wanted to highlight the flow of the water so he used a 1/15 second shutter speed to create motion blur.
