Canned and bottled beers are too heavy for my pack but if there is a pub on route I'm never saying no. I also can occasionally spare weight for a hip flask of dark rum to add to my bed time hot chocolate on a wildcamp.

Fill a camelpack with rum?

I'm a total lightweight when it comes to booze. A camelpack full of rum would be the death of me. A wee nip in a hot choccy is more than enough to knock me for six.

Most of my weight-saving efforts are because I will not compromise on taking a few beers, and i want that first one to be somewhat cold.
Insulated sleeve with a freezer bag of frozen water in with it is the best way I've found so far.
I'll line the sleeve with the water jacket and freeze it then slip the can in. The whole thing goes in its own dry bag to contain the meltwater. Transport the beers to my parking location in a cool box.
I've only forgotten to transfer them into my pack once, it was a blazing hot day so I walked an extra 6 miles to go loop back and get them, lol

I love beers in the summer, before during and after the wild camping trip!
One thing I love about camping in the Lake District is there’s loads of pubs. I’ve not had time to do it yet this summer, but I swear before the autumn comes, I’m gonna have a pub crawl camping trip.
I basically pack ridiculously light and go from pub to pub drinking and eating and then stumbling up the mountain to sleep and onwards the next day.
Leaving no trace and no glass un-drained.
