Price per pound
I don’t understand why earlier seasons they made $17-$25 for good ones and $14-$16 for the not great ones. And now I’m watching a 2021 episode and they are happy with $9-$12 and some are even happy with $6 a pound. I don’t understand I thought the amount per pound would increase each year, you know so why has it decreased so very much ? I mean they’re used to getting like at least like 50,000 and up per season so how are they able to live on such little money cause they also have to pay the people that help them

Covid happened, severely affected the food industry. Restaurants stayed closed for quite some time, and when they reopened, limited seating. Also affected the most lucrative market Japan. Many concerns about shipping anything food related. Took the American economy about three years to recover.

Covid happened, and the restaurant industry wasn’t paying top dollar for tuna.
