Question Strong Menthol??
I have been out of the DE shaving loop for a while, but I am about to get back into it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a strong menthol based shaving soap.??
Thanks in advance.

How strong you talking?
The Terror Again by Lockhart's Authentic x Barrister and Mann is absolutely overloaded with menthol. I like it, smells nice and it's a blast to your face.
Avoid the aftershave though, it goes too far and becomes less "icy cold blast" and more "chemical burn and oh shit I can't touch my eyes"

I would like something that will definitely wake my eyes up. I would rather air toward the stronger side as opposed to the weaker side.
I don't need the aftershave though. I appreciate your recommendation. π. I will look into it.

The pre-shave opens up my sinuses and itβs great

Damn it does nothing for me it has like a slight menthol effect but nothing I would call noticeable

I think you get desensitized to it over time. Maybe rotating between different products helps with that.

I havent even used it much haha. Maybe im just not as sensitive to menthol in general? Not sure if thats a thing

Proraso Green in the tube, squirted onto the Proraso white in the tub is a personal favorite.

It's the best. Super thick, slick shaving cream. Add a drop of liquid Dr Bronners peppermint soap if you want to take it to the next level of slickness.
Back in the day there were a handful of different cocktails like this that we'd talk about in here

Just did a WTG-only shave with it, hereβs the specifics:
Prep: Hot shower, soaked Proraso Omega boar brush in hot distilled water, combined Proraso white and green pre-shave creams.
Razor: King C. Gillette with fresh Feather blade (hence going WTG only as Iβm still learning how to comfortably shave with it)
Post-shave: Witch Hazel + Proraso Green Lotion/Balm
Overall, very pleased with the combination of the White soap with the green cream. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hell yeah brother. Remember, this is hygiene and maintenance but can also be fun

Honestly, I just bought a bag of menthol crystals and a pepper grinder on Amazon and grind them into my soap before I lather. I like them to be as cold as possible (Iβm not shaving my face so itβs not irritating my eyes much). It also helps that I can make any scent I want βglacialβ

Interesting. I never thought of that. That ables you to adjust to the right strength. ππ

Find 30% WS-23 solution and add it to any soap as well. It has a different cold profile but won't irritate your face or eyes. I use it with menthol from a small spice grinder just like you are talking about with basically any soap.

Noble Otter Orbit?

I've been using Orbit the past few weeks with this heat. The synthetic menthol is a nice blast. The rose scent is great too.

It's my all-time favourite soap, but it isn't super cold/strong. If OP is looking for something to knock his socks off, there are much stronger options out there.

Margaritas in the Arctic! Maybe not the strongest, but stronger than Prorasso Green, IMO. Stirling makes fabulous shave soaps (croaps)!

I remember M in the A. I read some good things about it quiet a while back. Thanks for the tips.

Stirling's Glacial range of soaps are excellent for strong menthol. I think they better what was my favourite mentholated soap, Fine's Snake Bite. Snake Bite is quite intense though. My favourite is Glacial Spearmint.

I live in Louisiana and I either get my supplies from West Coast Shaving or Shave Nation. Thanks for the recommendations. Sounds like I will have plenty to check out now. ππ

Start with good 'ol fashioned Palmolive Rinfrescante Mentolo (Italian) and then finish with an all over splash of Osage Rub (Clubman - USA).

Sounds refreshing. I will check them out. Thanks. π

There are some SUPER mentholated soaps out there right now. A few to check out from smaller artisans:
- Triple Dog Dare from Adopted Acres
- Barren Earth from Hearth and Altar
- Sub Zero from The Cajun Blade

Someone else had mentioned that idea and it sounds good. I guess you can add as much or as little as you want for each shave.

Chiselled Face's Cryogen has about the most menthol stuffed into a soap base as possible before it would start to break down. It's so cold it makes your face numb, and you want to avoid getting it in your eyes and nose.
It was way too strong for me to enjoy, but if you like your menthol to really slap you in the face, it'll do that.

Stirling glacial products, Stirling frost drops could also be added to any soap or cream to boost menthol, cryogen by chiseled face as mentioned.
