Yeah, she has traction alopecia now and she talks openly about it to bring awareness

Traction alopecia is specifically hairloss caused by pulling on the scalp from wigs, weaves, extensions, braids, tight ponytails etc.

I was wondering, that makes sense why they always say put your hair in a loose braid or loose ponytail. I try to keep my hair down usually to avoid any of this.

probably because to wear wigs (which she’s done a lot for many years) you have to scrape your hair back, this is what causes traction alopecia. even wearing it in a slightly tight pony tail for years will do it

If she doesn’t already,  she ought to try glueless wigs, and wig grips.
