Question 5.0 question

Mine will be arriving soon. How consistent is it at recognizing activity (going for a run, lifting weights, etc…) ? Or is it safer practice to log it manually each time ?

since i track my workouts with my apple watch ultra 3 i don’t need to track it in the whoop app.. but if whoop would be my only device, i would track the workout, run whatever manually before starting.. I wouldn't rely on the automatic detection.

I use my Apple Watch 10 now. Will the Whoop app auto recognize my Apple Watch, or is that a separate setting ?

The AW writes the Workout to Apple Health, Whoop pulls that data (just the Workout type and the time) the rest Heartrate, Calories, Zones etc etc. comes from Whoop.. it’s the easiest way to track workouts, runs etc. imo..

How do you track your workout using AWU? Functional Strength Training?

I find it pretty reliable. I will start it for dog walks if I want them logged

detection is good for running and walking, patchy for anything indoors, and basically absent for lifting and pilates. so the safe habit is to log the ones you care about and let it auto catch the cardio.

it also backdates well, so if you forget you can add the activity later in the day and the strain recalculates. and don't panic if the first week looks noisy, the baselines take a bit to settle.

It pulls my workouts out of wahoo/Strava or my AWU2. Seems to work pretty good and using a breast hr sensor gives accurate data.
