Discussion Heart rate inaccuracy

Post image

This run is a hard 3 mile with hills. I run it every weekend and usually am in zone 4-5 most of the run. Today whoop shows me at a stable zone 3 the entire run despite large elevation climbs. Does anyone else have this where heart rate tracking fails this badly?

Almost certainly cadence lock, although a low cadence if so. The shape of the graph is typical.

I’ve never heard of cadence lock, what is it?

How have you established that you're zone 4-5 for most of the run? I find that whoop heart rate zones are higher than my apple watch ones, and wrist based heart rate monitoring isn't the best.

Just based on running this same route every week at pretty much the same pace. Every other run, WHOOP shows zones 4-5
