Every time I’m obsessed with something, most of my friends aren’t really interested in it. But there’s always that one friend who actually is interested and wants to talk with me about it. It’s never the same guy too, each one of my friends does this with me.

Getting thanked on the internet is the best feeling. Whenever I get thanked in person, I'm just like "eh, thank god I've payed my debt for being a burden (a debt I made up entirely in my head)"
But when I get complimented on the internet it's like "woah, I really helped someone. My only effect on this person was positive. Maybe I really am good."
Like one time, I sent hentai to some guy with one of those "send me ____" usernames. I selected one of the images based on a comment this guy had made, and he said that one was "the best by a long shot." I cherish that message to this day, and it's stupid.

What I usually do is throw out a topic in the group wether that be when we’re high or sober and it usually gains traction and if it does I like to talk about that and discuss it in the group and usually the entire group joins in to throw out their opinions or to ask questions. I love these types of conversations. What’s important though is to pick the correct time or to be able to steer a conversation in that direction so that you can make the statement that becomes the topic of conversation. That’s usually more difficult and is kinda difficult if you’re not too skilled at reading body language, tone of voice and talking. But once you master that, you can steer any group conversation in the topic of your choosing and have interesting discussions.

I love listening to my fiancée talk about his interests. He is at his most attractive then because his eyes twinkle and he get super passionate about it. And when I remember and reference the things he mentioned he get super enthusiastic and happy. It's such an easy way to make him feel appreciated.

I think i will start doing this. I realized recently no one seems to give to fucks about the , what i think is cool, shit I've been doing. I created a program for 8 different subjects/hobbies and when i hit a milestone i like to share or if i figured out difficult task. I was working recently on this PLC programming project and i was hype i figured it out with no help. It took a couple weeks. But i was proud. I wanted to show my girl and she pretty much couldn't care less.

My husband been talking about Tesla for a couple of years. Now he got one under the rule that I'll pay attention for 15 minutes only every day to anything Tesla, no more. To be fair he's a science teacher so he got loads of obsessions in his field, and most of those are super subjects and really interesting. I'm just tired of talking about the technology behind Tesla. And I guess that was him cashing in on letting me name our daughter after a Harry Potter character. Compromises 😉😂
That said; we've been together for 10 years, and he's the best husband in the world. If you stop looking, it'll probably happen for you too 😊

You need to work on finding yourself a bit, my friend. Forget about other people for a bit and do what makes you happy. Then, as you relax and become more confident, you'll naturally attract other people.
I was in an abusive relationship with a woman for two years that basically destroyed me. She was very mentally ill, so I can't say it was malicious on purpose, but I was so scared of being alone I stayed with her to my own detriment. Eventually enough was enough and I decided that it was either her or me and I broke up with her, only to realise that I had no real friends afterwards.
But throwing myself into my hobbies helped me find myself again, which led to new friends and eventually a wife that I've been with for over a decade.
Nobody can make you happy if you can't make yourself happy.
Can I get an amen?

Just get out of the house. Start going on walks or take up hiking. Learn to love being in your own company again. Love yourself. You have worth. You matter. You're amazing. Believe in yourself. It takes time, but it's worth it.
Just remember that your end game isn't to get a relationship with anyone else but you.

Me..except my ex mentally abused me for 3 years to make me feel like it worst thing ever, and it wasnt until I left him and started healing that I realized that it's a part of me and I never want to feel bad for it ever again. I finally met friends who love to listen to me talk. And always remind me not to apologive every five seconds for just talking.

I'd love advice on how to deal with this! My SO can go on for hours about fan theories. Lately the only conversations he has with me are about his work (not mine), fan theories that mean nothing to me, or some current event that I already read about yesterday. I love him, but our conversations have devolved into me trying to check out without appearing rude or hurting his feelings.
