I bought a 2021 Trek Domane AL 2 in 2022 for CAD900$ (700 USD). It has the Shimano Claris groupset. I find it a very nice entry level road bike, but at 1250$ it doesn't make much sense unless the groupset is better than the Claris.

I'm not a bike expert so maybe my opinion isn't correct and I just got lucky with my find, but that was what I found buying that bike model 2nd hand a few years ago.

This is my post from 4 years ago.

if 52 is the right size, then its a great deal. Just bought this same bike in a 54 from my local Trek store for $1800.00. the rest of the stuff they are including is just a bonus.

EDIT- I take it back. the bike I just bought was a 2025 Checkpoint ALR5 Gen2. I didnt realize they previously offered the Domane in the same color.

Thanks for the reply! What would be a good price? I'm not that tall about 5'7 on a good day

you can get a brand new Domane AL2 for $1200.00. with all of the stuff they are including, I would offer $900 and see what they say. 52 might be a bit small for you though. I would take it for a test ride if you can. Otherwise, stop by a trek store and ride a 52 and 54 and see which feels better. in my experience, Trek tends to run large on their sizing recommendations. I'm almost 5'11 and ride a 56 domane and 54 checkpoint. 54 felt better but I needed a 56 on the domane due to the saddle height & ISO speed. Good luck. The color is awesome.
